When I was a kid, I don't remember exactly how old I was, probably around 7 years old, but I will never forget when we were sitting with my grandma, and I threw some bread in the bin. My grandma started crying and walked away. It was because she had been essentially a slave in Germany. When Germany invaded Poland, she was taken as a 17-year-old girl to work in Germany under poor conditions without pay. She didn't talk about it with me, but my mom explained the whole situation. I was 7 or 8 at the time, but I still remember that experience. Keep in mind that our grandparents were starving during World War II, and that’s why they taught us to respect food.
Yes. I understand. Some things I don’t share on UA-cam but this is somewhat similar to a story I heard.
Interestingly enough, this woman also told me she was interested in and was reading books about generational traumas.
So, here wasting food won`t be welcomed well. I ate bread with sugar, and i wont throw away bread or almost anything, it`s disrespectful. Basically in our dictionary u`re describing how u choose a way of ignorant consumerist.
In Poland we don't waste food. My generation remembers times when stores were empty. That's how we were raised.
"Scarcity" mindset? Dude, you have a "waste" mindset! I don't understand how some (mostly North American) people don't see and get it. This is where understanding, wisdom, and humbleness pays dividends.
A little advice, when you want to talk about something, talk about it and don't talk about a lot of unnecessary things that are terribly difficult to listen to. The topic was about a broken heart, and here you have to listen for 10 minutes about food waste and your childhood. It's hard to watch your videos. Unfortunately, I have to speed them up all the time and turn them off halfway through.
You didn't watch till the end, so long story short: there was no heartbreak. It was just a click-bait title. In his mind he thinks being wasteful manifests abundance, so he likes being wasteful and because Polish girls don't like wasting food "it breaks his heart" they won't be a match.
You should certainly stop watching his videos. Stop wasting your time and breaking your own heart.
@@eQuariuz haha noted. YT is a light entertainment, you can get a peek into the world of people you'd never meet in real life. Like have you seen Maksym Wołczyk? That's what I mean, you can go "huh, so this exists too".
Tbh you shouldnt have posted this video. Wasting food is considered something really uncool in Poland. And it doesnt matter if youre rich or poor - you just dont do that (publically). So, hehe, dont be surprised if youre gonna get some hate comments under this video.
ps. Even polish millionaires i know dont waste food. Its just a matter of principle.
I really don’t care about the hate comments. I want to post the content to share my experience. I know other people who do the same thing. I also recognize that most of the world looks down on how I choose to spend my money, it is what it is. I’m not going to create some false narrative. I am who I am. If people don’t like it, that’s fine but I’m going to be me and do the things that I do.
I do appreciate your comment though and the insight. I think I said in the video I understand why they’d feel this way. Not saying I’m right and they’re wrong or anything like that.
Scarcity mindset is crazy. You know most of our parents here grew up with food stamps and bread lines, right?
It makes sense based on economic factors.
As I said in another comment (I think). I had a really interesting conversation about generational trauma with one of these women.
Why not just get a sampler of the things you would like to try instead of getting full meals of different things and not finishing them. I’ve asked for sampler plates of different things I wanted to try even when a sampler was not on the menu.
Lol, how to summarize your monologue: a guy from a lower part of the social ladder philosophizes about "scarcity mindset". The problem here is that you try too much and everything around you tells the opposite, including your accent. "Steak and/or lobster" - that's a very revealing phrase.
"""Steak and/or lobster" that's a very revealing phrase." Why is that revealing? What does it reveal?
Actually I don’t try AT all. I used to try, now I don’t give a flying f*ck because I don’t give af what people think 😂
100% was lower class in my youth.
@@thenomadconsultant "100% was lower class in my youth" - this answer is generally appreciated. But your "scarcity mind" philosophy about food rather not. It is rather considered a bad taste to leave much/something on the table unless you don't like it. A very much different than in the US where the portions are huge.
It’s not about money. You just don’t waste food
The women told me it was directly related to them being not well off when they were younger, but that’s good to know. Thanks for the insight
Yes we need that video😊
This is why should go Krakow not Warsaw :)
