Love, love, love Alan Cumming. He's a model Celebrity & excruciatingly talented. His voice is magical! His opinions are thought-provoking. I can't wait to read his new book. Bought it immediately after listening to this podcast. Thank you, Katie! (Bought your book too!)

I can so relate to all of your feelings about childhood abuse. I'm over 70 and I can say it never goes away.

Katie, I really enjoyed your interview with Alan Cumming. I have delighted in Alan’s performances over the years, and enjoyed his book about his life with his father. I’m sorry that both of you have had threatening responses from people. Notoriety means that some people are envious, and wrongly think you have it all. I refuse to communicate online in an impolite way, and don’t belong to Twitter. I’m a little older than you, and have followed your career with great interest. I look forward to reading your new book! Thank you.

just when you think you gain some insight and understanding 😮of what someone has gone through in their life, with these candid interviews, a new one enlightens you more and this interview with Katie Couric was fantastic! More levels of Alan coming you didn't know existed were portrayed. and bringing back memories of what Monica Lewinsky had to go through. What a brave girl.

Katie! What an awesome interview with one I hold i my heart so dearly. He doesn’t know it, and probably never will, but he is a champion and an inspiration in my life. Nastiness and abuse is something we will never “get over, “ but we can learn to live and grow from it. I wish I could give him a big hug of appreciation! And you, are such an inspiration of strength and courage for all of us women who “get it.” Can’t wait to read your new book as well! By the way, your cousin and Eufaula say “hi!” 💙💙💙🌈🌈🌈🥰

Alan is so right you don’t overcome, but you learn to find healthier ways of understanding and coping with trauma. Can’t agree with Katie’s idea of babies just being blobs who are then shaped into something created by the parent. Parents have power certainly, but my experience has been that we arrive very much with our own characters and personalities and many experiences shape who we become and are becoming.

Love Alan Cummings and could listen to his thoughts all day and all night. Katie is amazing as well but I wish she wouldn’t have tried to pin him down about Dave Chappell.Alan already said he isn’t the poster child for LGBTQ issues and hadn’t seen what was said or written and she hints he should then wants to stay on that topic. 🙄 She is an amazing interviewer she knew to move on and how to pivot around topics so why try to get him to be unkind or take a stance on another performer/professional?!?

Interesting point about young people growing up with the internet .. do they get a layer of protection against the junk out there from their peer group or socialization
