Same! Finally worked! Simple "pip install matplotlib" didnt work needed the rest of the command, wow I spent hours figuring this out. Somehow was able to install without admin. Thanks again!

@CodeWizard I installed matplotlib but when I add import matplotlib I get a yellow underline and when I hover over it it shows (module) matplotlib Import "matplotlib" could not be resolved from source pylance (reportMissingModuleSource)

you have to use the python3 pip command in a folder that can search for python. if you are too deep into your files, it won't work. I found using the my user folder as the environment allowed me to use the pip command
