- A reunited Fat Larry's band performs "Act Like you Know", from their "Breakin' out" album. Originally active during the eighties, they are known for their soul/funk tunes like "Zoom", "Center City", "Boogie Town" and most of all "Act Like you Know". This song reached number #2 in the 1982 uk single charts.

Inizialmente attivi durante gli anni ottanta, sono conosciuti per i loro brani soul/funk come "Zoom", "Center City", "Boogie Town" e sopratutto per "Act Like you Know". In 1976, tbe band members included trumpeter/flautist Art Capehart, guitarists Ted Cohen Tony Middleton, percussionist lead singer Darryl Grant, saxophonist Doug Jones, bassist Larry La Bes, trombonist/alto/saxofonist Jimmy Lee, and keyboardist Erskine Williams.
On December 5, 1987 fat larry james died of a heartatack the band folded after his death

I can't recognize NONE of the original members (which used to be 9, by the way...); I don't what's that stuff, or how they managed, but I doubt if there's a single original member from Fat Larry's Band here
Je reconnaîs AUCUN des membres originaux, ici (qui étaient 7 musiciens, voire 9, certaînes années des 1970s/1980s)...Je sais pas ce qu'ils ont trafiqué, ou comment se sont débrouillés les organisateurs de ce show; mais je crois qu'il y'a tromperie sur la marchandise là. De toute façon, les deux jeunes derrière qui font les choeurs sont beaucoup trop jeunes pour être des membres originaux, et même le chanteur de tête : pas sûr qu'il ait jamais fait partie du véritable groupe "Fat Larry's Band", en tout cas, comme l'a si bien dit un autre mec avant moi (lire plus bas) : c'est pas Larry James (qui était le batteur et le chanteur principal sur certaînes de leur chansons) puisque celui-ci est mort en 1987, juste après la sortie de leur dernier album "Nice" (de 1986). Y'a dû avoir pas mal de gogos dans ce public qui ont dû croire que c'était Fat Larry's Band pour de vrai ...

I don't think that there is even ONE SINGLE of the members who came and went in Fat Larry's Band during the 1970s and 1980s ... Those seem like imposters !!! (and very young ones, that is)

Umm, no, no ,no, NO! Practice on the piano before wasting concert goers money like this! The sad part is, even though Fat Larry has been gone for years now, the guy who originally sang lead on “Act Like You Know” and “Zoom” was still alive at the time of this performance. Maybe if someone called him up it would have saved all of us this ear sore of a performance.

D'no which "Larry" you talkin' bout ; but mind you that the "real" Larry -meaning Larry James, who gave his name to the group- is dead long ago; since 1987,in fact (Unless this other member of the group was named Larry too...)
