Eminem, J Cole, Kendrick, Dax,Hopsin etc make songs which sometimes takes years to even understand a bar, a single fucking bar. You can take things for granted that they said, but the same bar actually could mean more than just one or two things. Core hip-hop fans love with the complexity of songs because that's what makes artists Legends! You gotta listen to such songs again and again to understand! And that's the difference between just a fan of hip-hop and a core hip-hop fan.

@@heisenberg9595 Man, it's alright to make remixes to get popular. Joyner Lucas is the best example of this. He uploaded loads of remixes and gradually built up a large enough audience from youtube remixes and now is genuinely considered a top level rapper. I get that it's not just remixes, but if we are patient enough, we will get good quality music if the artist has that amount of talent.
(Btw, Dax has a fair amount of good original songs that are very good on a technical level too.)

It'll always be difficult to endorse the complicated, technical, lyricism heavy side of hip-hop to the common listener because people never wanna go out of their way to breakdown music. They don't even want to know what the song means as long as they can just move to it because the mass population is plain dumb and is still 5-10 years behind when it comes to comprehending music and understanding it's complexities. Art and entertainment ki baat nahi hai, it's about understanding good music or choosing the dumber route. And considering the artists that are huge rn, it's easy to see people have been doing the latter. So it's just that people still haven't evolved into better listeners, artists toh iss desh mai hamesha se rahe hai.

As far as i remember, in one of your old videos you told us that RAP means rhythm and poetry. So, this was clear to me back then only. Poetry always has a depth to it. It is not for pleasing the souls. It is for someone to face a hard reality, a situation or a particular feeling. I learnt from a video once that Rap was started to describe the problems in one's life. And the individual who was rapping had this intention that the world could understand his problems. But, it's not everytime that we understand everything from a poetry. That's when guys like you come into play.
