Indeed. It's the same thing in the plant where I work. The pathways are also color coded homogenously acros the plant. So for example a blue path with white border means that everyone, including visitors, can walk there (and only there. Straying from the path will get you kicked out) and you don't need to wear protective gear. A blue path without white border means that everyone, including visitors, can walk there but you need some protective gear like safety shoes, reflective vest and a helmet. A red pathway means only authorized personnel and all safety gear is mandatory, so safety shoes, fireproof pants and jacket, helmet, CO2, gas and toxin detector, earplugs, safety goggles and respirator. Orange path means danger, heavy objects overhead. Yellow pathway means electrical danger. 50/50 orange and yellow means both of those combined, etc etc. These are just some examples, there are many more, including like you describe pathways to move equipment or drive specific vehicles on. At the entrances and exits to every production hall is a large sign with all the color codes inside that specific hall and at strategic locations throughout the plant are even larger signs that contain all the color codes found in the entire plant. Kinda cool indeed, especially if you know what the colors mean
I dare say the engine is not made with cast "steel" but cast iron. Interesting factory. . Volvo has a very good reputation for the heavy equipment they make.

I LOVE Volvo, their products, marketing and how they work, their philosophy and work ethics. I'd buy a Volvo truck just to joy ride if I had the money.
Had a number of Volvo cars, 240, 740, 940, 960, (the "four wheeled bricks"), an 850 and a 3 series. All nice cars, but when they started making much more "up to date" styled cars I think they lost the plot and a lot of their traditionally loyal customers, though I did like the 3 series which was very sporty, by Volvo standards! My last 940 is still sitting outside the house in good condition but hasn`t run for about 10 years.
@@notimeforspace2477It's my understanding that there are no compromises in regards of product quality, besides who owns what. The language is translated a bit funny if you live in Sweden. The factory is located in Braås, not Braas. The turning machine ”Vendela” is because Vendela is a girls name, and ”vända” means turn…
I hate to bust your bubble but Volvo wasn’t the first to come up with a 3 axle truck that large. Atlas Copco Wagner Mining came out with the fullback that originally was rated at hauling 45 tons then subsequently bumped up to 50 tons back in the mid 90’s. I worked their as a heavy duty diesel mechanic. 2 major issues where the center articulated hing that was a cast part had cracking issues so the engineers went to a steel plate welded replacement. Second issue because of cost and price point issues was the Transverter. They went with a ZF transverter because it was 10,000.00 dollars cheaper then using a Allison transmission. The front power frame was designed around the ZF transverter and it was impossible to convert to a Alison transmission. Wagner eventually sold the rights to the truck to undisclosed buyers but I think it was Caterpillar because I see a lot of the fullback in the Caterpillar truck.
no, not "spot welds" those are tack welds, listen at 29:25, and no not a "milling machine" a purpose built machining center. the "special apparatus" ( I think that's what you called it) that holds parts as they are TACK welded is an assembly jig. the cleaning process before robotic welding is called shot blasting..its not that hard to get this right.
I thought these trucks were big, then I heard max load of 55ton LOL. I then realized I load trucks with 6 -8 steel coils at a time, those trucks are transporting about 350,000lbs of steel around sometimes
Same here, used to work in a mine that had CAT 797F, these can handle 400 short tons (800,000lbs) but this one is articulated so a different type of vehicle
What does it look like around the world in other factories where welders works? Is it standard that you are provided with a welding mask that provides everybody with clean air?
Yes. Yes, it standard with the best safty gear for industrial workers, all over the world. And in Pakistan, they even work with flip-flops when welding, the best safty shoes around.
We have A60H on the company i work for and its very nice to drive when it works. Its in dire need of a new gearbox since its the biggest issue with this model. I have lost count on how many gearboxes broke down. And NO its not a drivers fault since the A40 works just fine
Oh, the errors in this one are making my head spin, and I'm only 11 minutes in! They're TACK welds, not spot welds. The front yoke is not fused to the rear, it's fixed with locking PINS, not bolts. And the truck uses two hydraulic RAMS, not pumps to steer. I certainly hope it gets better from here.
im rather curious about the assembly line, where they say the robot rotates the engine to the optimal position for installation... it would be pretty damn cool if that took the station workers height into account. i'm sure it's technically possible given that each worker has to sign off on their installation anyways so the station has specific employee data... my thinking is that a very tall person would need a different ° rotation to install parts compared to a short person... Swedes are leading the industry in Ergonomics and worker safety, so i think they might use such a system.
Where did the A60 title come from.....other than the narrator mentioning it there was no mention of 60 in any weight ,volume, engine size, tyres there was 3o od cubic metres and 55 ton but no 60
The A60 is weird. Its 60 long tons (US) and 55 short tons (EU). The newest version of the A25 loads 25 short tons and the A35 for another example loads 34,5 short tons
55 metric tons converts to 60.xx US tons. I have driven Bell 35 and 40 trucks and those are the US ton ratings of those trucks. The bigger question would be how they decide which ton they will use for the model number. I'm not sure where volvo is based or where they started, but their history might shed light on why the model number is based on US tons.
the process is very high tech. Given its sweden, the quality is for sure taken care of. Volvo has been bringing the name on heights when it comes to the quality of their machines.

34=the weight of the truck

America was on this manufacturing level until southern borders were opened.
im rather curious about the assembly line, where they say the robot rotates the engine to the optimal position for installation... it would be pretty damn cool if that took the station workers height into account. i'm sure it's technically possible given that each worker has to sign off on their installation anyways so the station has specific employee data... my thinking is that a very tall person would need a different ° rotation to install parts compared to a short person... Swedes are leading the industry in Ergonomics and worker safety, so i think they might use such a system.
I’ll never understand why you wouldn’t take the best workers not weather they are male or female
Sorry but where is Brass located ?
Bell B60E Is virtually identical , same payload etc just difference in length and width.
Correct me if I'm wrong, with all these vehicles I didn't see an S10 in there.
Adoraria que tivesse dublado em português.
good
45:12 dude spend 20 years in becoming an engineer just to hold a torch and crawl underneath a gigantic truck,
Just a joke.
The factory is located in Braås, not Brass.
@@Ubeer85 "55 short tons (EU)". Metric tons. Although the first one should be "short tons (US)"
55 metric tons converts to 60.xx US tons. I have driven Bell 35 and 40 trucks and those are the US ton ratings of those trucks. The bigger question would be how they decide which ton they will use for the model number. I'm not sure where volvo is based or where they started, but their history might shed light on why the model number is based on US tons.
43.40 respray the whole bumper ..... BS. It will go back to rectification and be reworked.
Come a long way since the bolinger-munktell tractors of the past...
I like education as a hobby.
