You can't automate your way to prosperity forever. Eventually, automation will cause mass unemployment, and no one will have any income to buy what you are selling. This is a prisoner's dilemma. You maximize your own good by automating, but once EVERYONE does that, it will destroy the economy.

This is one of my great fears. Very well said. In the interim though, we need to use the tools! If we want to make change in the world we need to thrive in the world. We need resources to do great work.
My question to you is, are you using tools like this now ro do work more efficiently?

I think a company leveraging automation is great. However, prices never decrease due to the increase in productivity. NEVER.
At the end of the day automation means LESS people employed. LESS people earning a living. Meanwhile the company is making more money per unit. Companies don't balance the destruction of people while chasing their profit.
Think about it. During the 60's through to the 90's people had jobs, decent living wage jobs. Then there was the politician's globalization push and the push to move wealth creating jobs out to despot nations. Now in America we have rampant homelessness, greater and greater drug problems, rampant crime, decline in overall happiness ... and IMO simply because DAD can't find a meaningful living wage job to support his family.

I dont disagree at all. It's a major predicament. I do think technology has dramatically improved quality of life as a whole, and automation will as well.
The question is how do we empower humans without replacing? This is my passion. Making AI and automation simple. Approachable. Practical.
Videos like this I hope will wake people up and start learning skills now so they're not blindsided by company wide layoffs!

I agree with you in that people need to learn the skills necessary to cope with the automation and/or AI standing in for that warm body.
However, my issue lies not so much with the "automation" of work, simply because I think automation is the direction we need to be going. Sure a person can learn some skills to cope with said automation but if a factory floor replaces 30 people with automation and then only needs 5 people to run/maintain said equipment 25 people are out of work.
That owner still reaps the $$ of the 25 people, prices don't go down, now maybe prices don't go up as much ( but that's an if you never ever see or prove ) thus the one who automates reaps the entire reward with very little downside.
It's the human condition that needs addressing. We as a species need to reach for the highest apple ( how else can we innovate if we don't stretch and get a prize ) but raping the tree on the way up ( leaving nothing for them below ) and then hoarding said bounty is causing strife and resentment. Business' want 15 years experience and pay HS wages.
I think the problem is US. Greed is good ( only in as much as it encourages innovation ) but Greed is also evil because it gives moral authority to take more and more from those that don't prosper as well.
      Thanks for your reply.

@johnjacobjinglehimerschmid3555 all valid points John. Personally, I feel every human should have a side hustle. Not only does it teach new skills, bug can open avenues to freedom. Not easy, but a great means of staying relevant. We may be entering a new age of tens of millions of 1 persin companies. Perhaps that's a solution.
Personally, AI empowered me to leave my day job last year, and my life is 10x better!

this guy just ripped off some other proeduction / media, strategicaly placed interuptions with his nonsense about how great he is. The problem is AI can do everything but customer service. When you need a human to interact and provide that customer service. how many times have you called in or chat with a bot. And you keep screaming Representative. But this is where business invest AI. AI is good for doing stuff like this. But customer service not so much

    • @carultch
      @carultch 6 місяців тому

Exactly. Anyone who thinks you can automate customer service, is missing the entire point of customer service. The best way to save labor on customer service is to publish a FAQ page, and publish a list of phone extensions of exactly who to call for which department. This shows that the company is proactive at helping the customer solve their own problem, when it is routine and predictable.
But there will always be problems that ARE NOT routine and predictable, and that is precisely when the customer needs customer service in the first place.

Link to video and statistic references in the video. I've got a platform and I will use the platform to wake people up. Even if I don't make a $ from adsense it doesn't matter. What matters is people understand and adapt now!
I disagree with customer service to an extent. AI has made huge leaps forward in understanding and human interaction. It's only getting better, especially if Scarlett Johansen signs on, hah.
I expect customer service in the future will be a call center with a couple humans and a hundred chat bots.
Also, better than FAQ is a SAQ (should ask question). At least in the context of prospecting.
      Cheers yall!
