REST IN PEACE GARY CARTER YOU WERE A TRULY A GREAT BASEBALL PLAYER, 😪 LEE MAZILLI WENT TO MY HIGH SCHOOL, LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL IN BROOKLYN ABRAHAM LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL
Looking back at that team 34 years there were some great after baseball stories and some really tragic after baseball stories For me Dwight Gooden's story is the most tragc What say you?
Today Mets stands for My Entire Team Sucks! Ever since Omar Minaya got his hands on the GM job and is now a special assistant, he has changed that team with his social experimentation. Minaya and the current GM need to go once and for all.
@@justanothergoy5900 Tell me about it. Mets also stood for Minaya's Employees Take Siestas. If he had 9 players on the field with the drive of Keith Hernandez, I'd say, "MUY BIEN!" but this guy put stiffs and bums on that team. I've never forgiven Carlos BUMtran for taking strike three in '06 and then act like it was no big deal.
Have to admit Doc looked terrible. Wish him the best. Saw him on 30 for 30 with Staw and he couldn't sit still - always moving. Sorry to say, and I hope I'm wrong, but he's still hooked.
Did mel pass away?...when?...I knew he was sick.......were there no speeches, just the player intro's and the orosco pitch?....no one spoke to the crowd from the team?...wow
Hojo was certainly better than David Wright even if Wright has a higher batting average. Hojo could hit, hit with tremendous power, steal bases, and throw with the strongest arms, and play ss too.
FINALLY! A ceremony like this that didn't look like an embarrassing last minute effort. The professionalism and class from the 86'ers didn't rub off tonight. MLB is so idiotic now, 8 months after the Utley incedent and less that 10 days after the series in LA a brainless pitch is the "payback"? In '69 during an important September series with the Cubs, Bill Hands knocked down Tommie Agee - who got up and dusted himself off and went back to hit. Later Jerry Koosman hit Ron Santo on the wrist, there were no "warnings" no benches cleared - the all went back to work as professionals. Agee had several hits that night after the knockdown that helped the Mets overtake the Cubs. MLB is a joke and the punchline are those who pay the inflated prices for tix, other media and merchandise.
Lol I would've like to have seen the fans give equal amount of effort when cheering for every single one of those players, not just the ones that are in the public's eye today.
The Yankees were pretty much ignored in NY that year. With players like Mattingly, Winfield, Rickey Henderson, too. Steinbrenner mustve been awfully p!ssed.
Terrible directing by SNY. And a bad set up overall. WAYYYYYY too long of a walk up, causing the director to have to choose between seeing the next player come out, or what SHOULD have been the best part of this...the handshakes between the former teammates.
Those were the days my friend I thought they'd never end.
The 1986 New York Mets are one my favorite teams ever
NAH....You mean 1998 YANKEES😂😂😂
REST IN PEACE GARY CARTER YOU WERE A TRULY A GREAT BASEBALL PLAYER, 😪 LEE MAZILLI WENT TO MY HIGH SCHOOL, LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL IN BROOKLYN ABRAHAM LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL
For These Players Being 40 Years Older They Look Great. So Sad That Gary Carter Passed Away But A Few Look Like They Can Take The Field Today
84 to 90 was a great time to be a Mets fan
Dan Livni if there had been a wild card at the time the Mets would've been multiple time champs during the 80s.
Here here!
@@currypablo Oh yea
Just a real shame the Mets couldn't win more than one World Series...
Dan Livni If they have the wildcard back then they would’ve won six World Series
One of the greatest, moat entertaining. most fun teams ever.
Kind of like Abbott and Costello!
☝️🤡👍
Who the hell was chopping onions when Howie mentioned Gary Carter's name. The Kid was my moms favorite and was mine too.
I was
Chopping onions also seeing David Wright interact with the champs.
The 1986 New York Mets was like the Oakland Raiders of baseball
My pops grew up watching the Mets especially '86.
Sid Fernandez was the only player who remained at his playing weight.
Frank Cashen had more baseball smarts than Brodie Van Wagenen can ever wish to have.
So glad my friend got to be in the LGM video.
Doc looks rough.
Sandy Carter looks fantastic.
Thank you so much for uploading this! Loved It?
I was there at that tribute! Loved it!
Buddy Harrelson is a legend.
Gooden went 17-6. He said 12-6
I was there at the game where, I was where they came out.

What say you?
I hope Doc is okay.
Heap's hair looks great.
What song is being played while they walk out?

17-6 in 1986 for doc Howie! I guess you're too into the Islanders!

Minaya only liked Puerto Rican players

"The good times have returned to Flushing!" Uh, maybe not Howie.
herrrd hahahaha didn’t even notice that, kinda depressing lol
all these guys are skinnier than Bartolo colon!
I think doc looks near death.....
Have to admit Doc looked terrible. Wish him the best. Saw him on 30 for 30 with Staw and he couldn't sit still - always moving. Sorry to say, and I hope I'm wrong, but he's still hooked.
Since then... Red Sox 4 time World Champs! Yankees too!
☝️😆👍

Did mel pass away?...when?...I knew he was sick.......were there no speeches, just the player intro's and the orosco pitch?....no one spoke to the crowd from the team?...wow
Mel s still alive,he has cancer, but doing well
I don't know who's worse off Dwight Gooden or Lenny Dykstra
too bad mel stottlemeyre couldn't be there
Hojo was certainly better than David Wright even if Wright has a higher batting average. Hojo could hit, hit with tremendous power, steal bases, and throw with the strongest arms, and play ss too.

30 years along, guys like Randy Neiman aren't in the media focus that drives gen x'ers
wiedep lol 8^D I know I am asking for too much, I guess.
Keep your expectations low and you'll never know better...
wiedep 8^D
Hmm. I know he's a pitching coach and unavailable for the ceremony, but no mention of Roger McDowell.
cuz he's a punk ass
+Vincent Cuttolo don't even think those guys are on the final roster that played the Red Sox?
Vincent Cuttolo Sisk and Elster played in the post-season. I don't think Lyons was with the team until '87, after Ed Hearn was traded for David Cone.
Elster played the Sox.
He was working for the Braves at the time. Not sure if he's still there or not.
They all look good but Santana looks old.
Doc looks horrible. Cocaine has done him no favors.
+RNs Funhouse Please come back to UA-cam. That other site you use is gawd awful
The Yankees were pretty much ignored in NY that year. With players like Mattingly, Winfield, Rickey Henderson, too. Steinbrenner mustve been awfully p!ssed.

Thinks go better with coke!

Gooden is 52 y/o here and looks awful. Sad.
