It sounds ;like you will be very happy with the restart of the mermaid..i don’t like tent stitches either..reminds me of working on needlepoint ..finding your happy spot with stitching is so important And those are away knots on your massive bookshelf.....its fun seeing the dragon taking shape.....be well and happy stitching Cheers!
Great update hun! I can’t do tent stitch either but I do love 25 ct 😂 it’s amazing how we all feel comfortable with different things, thank god there’s lots of choice for us all! Happy stitching 🧵💗
Sorry to hear you decided to restart your mermaid, but completely understandable. It was a brave decision and I hope you will have more fun stitching her. She is so lovely. Stay safe and happy stitching
Enjoyed visiting with you today and your had great progress on your wips. I’m also thinking 🤔 about picking out 4 new starts and 2 wips and go from there. Have a wonderful evening and happy stitching 🧵 😊💗🤗🪡
Congratulations on ditching the fabric you did not enjoy. It is brave but I agree and did the same last year (for the first time) and am so much happier with my new fabric. :)
It's just as well you decided to stop working on 25ct. As you weren't happy it's for the best, you gave it a good try. March madness result was interesting. You're teasing us with your plans for 2022😜. Personally I've just found it and I love it👍. Not keen on tent stitch, I love tiny stitches 1x1. Just as well we care not all the same😁. I do wonder sometimes if all the confetti is necessary on the large projects!? I think stitching on what you want when you want is the best way to stitch. Enjoy all your stitches. Happy Easter Angela🐣
Nice progress on all your projects :) I have done the same thing figuring out my comfort zone with fabric. I always think everyone else's stitches look soo good on aida but mine just look messy. So 25 count is my sweet spot! Too tiny to see the imperfections lol.
I completely understand how you feel about both tent stitches and 25 count. I am trying 25 count one last time only because I had the fabric here and nothing else that would work for a new start. Wish me luck I can finish this one. My comfort zone is 18-20 count.
You do develop a preferred fabric, unfortunately that can take while. I have projects started on 18, 20,22,25,28 and now 32ct as well. 25ct is my least favorite, 2 strands was too thick, 1 strand not thick enough. I do 2 strand tent stitch on 32ct and really like the opaque coverage, just need the reading glasses for that one. Re-starting is ok if you're not happy with it. Love to see your progress on them.
Hello from Iceland! I love seeing your progress :) I fell in love with HAED last year and am currently working on 4 WIPs, waiting for material to start my 5th, The Mountain Cabin regular size. I actually bought the pattern in the beginning of October 2020 so it was one of my first ´loves´ from HAED. I will be trying out 25ct for the first time and wanting to stitch in tent - wish me luck ;)

I'm sorry you had to restart your mermaid - but definitely the right deciion to restart now than lose the love and give up later. I love 25 count myself, but I'm glad you know your sweet spot now and sure you'll enjoy it much more!
Hi hun. Great stitching. Live all yr projects. I think I need some of those magnet things. Where did u purchase them from hun? Lovely to catch up with u. Have a great week, take care & catch u again soon. Xxxx
No point doing something you don't like instead of enjoying this wonderful hobby. Good decision to restart now. I found out that I like 28 ct 1x1 full cross best for full coverage projects. I prefer 18 ct for non-full coverage that require blended colors or a mix of full and half stitch. I started with 14 ct and still have one project left. I will finish it but would not start another one in 14 ct.
I am the same. Have tried and tried tent and it just doesn’t work for me. I am a 20 count gal too. I have 1 25 count project that I am doing 2x1 and get on ok with it. Also a diagonal stitcher.
Great progress, you made the right decision about the mermaid, you have to love what you stitch on so enjoy stitching her now! Happy Easter x
Thank you x

We have similar tastes as I have a couple of those in my stash 🤦🏻♀️🤣
Beautiful stitching! So sorry that you are not happy with the little mermaid, but we need to stitch on what makes us happy. Take care
Thank you! I’m looking forward to starting it again! X

Thank you so much! You’re right, glad I found out now x
I don't think I could do tent stitch either. Makes me feel like its only half finished. 😆
🤣 I get what you mean! I much prefer full cross x

Thank you! I got them from Amazon - they are called “magnetic cable ties” x

You are working on some lovely projects ❤ I'm working on my first 25 ct 1 over 1 project. I'm just glad I have a magnifier! 😂😂
Thank you! X
