For weddings I have used J8, Evolve 50, Prx One. They all do the job well. I use them for up to 100 people. If I add a small sub I can go to 150. Column arrays handle at least 80% of my gigs. For outdoors, block parties, school dances, I use PRX912 tops and 18 inch subs.
I retired my pair of powered JBL EON 15' 2 ways about 3 months ago. I went ant got a pair of 28 G3's..... I love my LD Systems Maui 28 G3's (Pair - black)......I use these because of the awesome sound for up to 150 guests & simplicity in setting them up, they work for me. ($4,500- AUD - pair).....the LD branded 2 bags for the tops & the 2 sub covers cost me $600 for the lot
I would not. You do not want to mix the two. You will get phase and comb filtering. You will drop dB. The best is to have two-way tops for big events and Arrays for mid-sized and smaller. You can run Arrays for big events if you have the S.P.L. to do so.

@@13bcoffee I have done 260 with J8s. Thank you for watching the video!
I've used the J8's for 4 years now. Great speaker for many types of events.
I have used them at several weddings.

I'm rolling with the PRX 815 but planning on the Maui 5 Go or the RCF ART 945-A and for subs probably go for the RCF sub 9007-AS
Thank you for watching.
The line arrays arnt going away. But I think people see the limits to them. You will see them get larger for sure a 15 in sub will be the wave
@@DJLEOdamadprofessor Thank you for watching the video. I also think the same. The DB 1002 is a duel 12" sub for each bass unit. It hits hard.
Dual 12 are huge like an 18 the 15 subs are small 57 pounds very manageable
NOOOOO! This can't be. I just bought a pair. 😀
It's ok, It's not over... lol
Great video. How would you set up your speakers if you’re using both the column arrays and a regular set of powered speakers and subs?
