TY Jacob but my issue is that in my brand new iPhone it is missing !! Also a # of other features that come with 🍏 for years & past several models as well as older software ! The 1st thing I noticed was caller ID feature entirely gone under settings then phone ! I don’t like my personal mobile # shared when I’m working & calling businesses or 800 #s so have to press *67 now so also have to edit over 1,000 contacts to put that in before the number so I can even have Siri call for me and have it private !
The blue mic icon is entirely missing ! No tuitorial for this either anywhere even in 🍏 site!
I believe it’s verizon because I had it in older iOS and device and it’s been around for quite awhile . When I bought this new phone a month ago and put the SIM card in and noticed one after another entirely missing from the device THEN shockingly right after that and I don’t know where in settings it even is or came from in my device but it said that “some settings may not work depending on your carrier !!!! Not only do they not WORK…they REMOVED them !

How do you switch it off ?
It’s a Feature that iPhone added to the new IOS 17. & up so there’s nothing we can do UNTIL they give the option to turn it off , for now it’s the way they designed 😩🤦🏻♀️

It’s only on the voice chats YOU send which sucks. I want it on chats that I receive. Not the chats that are blue.

You only see it on their messages if they are also on iOS 17 and have their region set to US or Canada. Best to set region to Canada outside of the US as Canada also uses metric and degrees C.
Yeah, I know what I said. I want to know what the other person said. It won't even transcribe after you play it so it is dumb.
I want it DISABLED. I don’t like it. I send voice messages for a purpose and transcribing it defeats the purpose. Wish it was togglable. If someone knows how to turn it off please let me know!

yeah, thats why I said I wish it were togglable. I don't think it should be removed but just an option to turn it on or off in settings.

how the hell do you turn it off why would they have the description of what you just said in the voice message whats the point of sending a voice message if its still in text message form under it
i get thats its frustrating it wont turn off but seriously? did you not hear the reasons he listed in the video? I came here because I receive audio messages all the time from people who don't like texting and im often in public places or areas I cant sit and listen for 8 minutes

@@bobbyshores you literally can just tell them you prefer that they text it cause youre in a public place. And if they was to lazy to physically text they can simply mic that will get all of what you say in message. It's no reason to have this transcription when that is a easy altered option
Mine won’t automatically transcribe? I know we’re both up to date. And we both speak English.
Mine is up to date. Previously, it came up. However it doesn’t anymore. Really weird

Try switching your phone language. I switched mine to Spanish cause I understand Spanish. Now it doesn’t do it ❤️

Yes same here. Literally a one minute voice note takes way too long to send also it will freeze your iMessage if it’s a 3 minute or more voice note that u are sending iOS 17 voice notes are complete trash need to go back to ios16 way of voice notes or do a complete update to this one

I switched my phone language to Spanish 💀. It doesn’t do it when I have my phone in Spanish. Thankfully, I speak Spanish.

This new update feature is super annoying. Why would I want my audios to be transcribed ? I can send a text for that. Ugh. I hate this feature. Need it disabled asap
This video is very misleading. You still have to go to a quiet place to hear what they say and wait to listen to reply. It transcribes what you said after you send it….why would I need to know what I just said? Useless.

To turn this OFF >> settings / general / keyboard, and toggle off ‘enable dictation.’ Hallelujah!
