- Linda Keith (born 1946) is a former British fashion model,[1] best known for her work for Vogue magazine during the 1960s as well as her involvement in the rock music scene.[2]
Biography
Linda Keith was born to Pearl Rebuck and Alan Keith, a British actor and radio presenter who objected to her career as a fashion model. While working for Vogue, Linda dated Keith Richards and spent time living in New York City where she frequented the clubs in Greenwich Village. She helped discover Jimi Hendrix by introducing him to Chas Chandler.[3][4] She was also the first cousin of Free guitarist Paul Kossoff.
In the mid-1960s Keith became well connected culturally in the early days of the "Swinging Sixties". She was photographed by David Bailey and, together with Sheila Klein, partner of the Rolling Stones' manager Andrew Loog Oldham, was at the heart of a bohemian community in London's West Hampstead. She formed relationships with Keith Richards of the Stones and, later in New York City, Jimi Hendrix, but drifted into drug dependency. Richards appears to have been instrumental in Alan Keith's going out to America to find his daughter. On their return she was made a ward of court. She later brought up her own family and, in 2010, was living in New Orleans.[5] According to Richards, Linda Keith was the subject of the Rolling Stones song "Ruby Tuesday". The song includes the lyrics "[w]hen you change with every new day / Still I'm gonna miss you".
In the film Jimi: All Is by My Side it is suggested Jimi Hendrix also wrote the song "Red House" about Linda.
This is the actual person who discovered Jimi - Chas came along later. She deserves more credit.
And he is dead now..mixing with the wrong people as did Amey ..druggies....

Linda rarely gets credit for influencing her boyfriend Keith Richards. (She was living "the Keith Richard's lifestyle" before he was.) That she also discovered Jimi Hendrix and put him in touch with people in the UK who could help his career says much about her good taste ! Thanks for posting.
Yea club 27 ring a bell?

@@jessicabakker2616 Yes, Anita was an amazing woman and absolutely had a big influence on Brian first, then Keith (and Mick). But people forget about Linda. She had an influence on Keith and the Stones with her fashion and bohemian lifestyle before any of them even met Anita.
@Monsieur Tarzan Yes I know. He was worried about her. But also that's his side of the story. Linda hated him for involving her parents.
Kind of ironic that he tried to intervene when she was "overdoing it" when he then overdid it himself for > 10 years !

so true
Her father, Alan Keith, used to present 'Your 100 Best Tunes' on BBC Radio 2 for many years (which introduced me to classical music). He was born Alexander Kossoff, and was the brother of the actor David Kossoff. Paul Kossoff, the guitarist with Free, was the son of David Kossoff, and was Linda's cousin. After seeing All Is by my Side I just had to find out more about the real Linda Keith, played brilliantly by Imogen Boots in the film. I am astounded at the intelligence, vision & initiative displayed by this young girl & the way she single-handedly introduced Jimi to his audience. When many others dismissed Jimi she saw his potential. In the manner of a true muse she nurtured his talent & helped him to have faith in his own genius. Thank you Linda for being there when Jimi needed you & ushering in one of the greatest talents of the 20th century.

Lovely lady , those cheek bones.. my goodness.. beautiful woman
Linda was too sophisticated for Keith Richard's, in my opinion, who was a bit of a yob back then. Another commented on different video, about Linda Keith's accent, how it's old school proper English, and an accent rapidly disappearing.
You can see how Keith Richards acquired a sophisticated accent in the late sixties hanging out with that crowd
Rapidly disappearing? Maybe on tv.
@@redstar7292 : Different chemistry. I agree.
Richards was like putty in Pallenberg's hands , and molded him . It's a shame Jones thought he could mold her into the housekeepers he was accustomed to .
But then...no matter what his faults were , you stay away from you band mate's woman .
That on top of Jones' insecurities is what did him in. A band mate taking over the band *and* his old lady . No wonder Richards tries to rewrite history , taking every interview about Jones the chance to ramble about woman beating and what a charming women liberator he himself was by "saving" Anita ...who was woman enough to take care of herself.

What a lovely lady and very beautiful too! I read Jimi Hendrix's girlfriend, Kathy Etchingham's autobiography a while back and she recounted a story of her friend Linda Money, the wife of musician Zoot Money, attacking this poor woman, in the late 1960's, in The Bag O Nails nightclub, in London, due to some unhappy history between Kathy and Linda. So sad.
Linda had substance abuse problems at the time and went of the rails. But got over it all unlike some her friends who ended up drug casualties.

Btw Linda Keith got Brian Jones in some hot water when she staged her 'suicide attempt' in one of his apartments, she phoned her doctor, told him that she was going to take an overdose, doc arrived, took her to hospital and she was booted out of hospital the following morning. Bit of a drama queen!
