BSNES HD supports widescreen in rare snes games, including this one, but I wrote my own code to extend enemy appearance. Every single game on my channel is hacked by me, I can only reveal thousands of exclusive codes when my channel has thousands of subscribers. May I ask what emulator do you use and how to enable widescreen (it changes the whole game experience!).
