After being the punching bag of a Japanese homeless man for years, and then witnessing the ascendency of Hobo-Ken, Bison has tapped into the raw energy of the Satsui- No-Housing and has transformed into Meth Bison! Non shall stand in the way of his "I'm off my meds," power! Plus he got a horse.
he does not have amnesia bro and idk where u r getting this info from but its wrong, the bison we see right now is not really bison. its a clone of him
He really gives off Horseman of the Apocalypse vibes with the cape and horse its such a cool look for him. Not really happy he's back from the dead because I wish they actually let him stay dead we have other villains. But purely gameplay and design wise he looks sick. As for the story reason he's back I feel its fairly simple after Ryu destroyed him in 5 I imagine he put himself back together with psycho power but he was so fucked up by what Ryu did to him he's basically falling apart hence the amnesia and his round win post where you see cracks all over his body.
The true last boss is back...I was looking forward to having an opponent who not only is recognized by a wide audience...but is now a bigger achievement to slay than ever before. I'm glad the last boss characters did not end with JP.
I’m glad that Capcom has taken the route of announcing the entire seasonal lineup at once. Let people know exactly what they’re buying. Every fighting game should announce like this
I almost hope this Bison never remembers who he is and just has a drive to conquer this power he's awakened with and become a better fighter. Let Bison enter his anti-hero arc. 'Cause if he just remembers then it's the most boring thing in the world. He almost looks like he's quelling the psycho power with something else, it's not purple all the time here. Norio Wakamoto also isn't voicing him anymore, but the English VA hasn't changed, but I think it would've made for an interesting switch if it had. Really hammer home that this _is_ a different Bison. At least for now.
The blue power he uses reminds me of soul power that rose uses and Bison used before becoming evil. Idk what the significance of it is story wise if at all but it’s interesting to notice
The Mai thing was elaborated on the SF twitter they do mean January/February for Mai Elena is the last character of the season pass. I guess the artist just wanted the splash art to look nicer then worry about showing them in order.
I'm just spitballing here...but as for why Bison looks like he does and the fact he seems to have forgotten his name? I'm rolling with a bit of ChrisBMonkey's theory from his reaction and some of my own that when Ryu hit him with the Power of Nothingness Hadouken that did something. I say it basically wiped his mind of who he was and Chris thinks some of the Power of Nothingness STAYED with Bison and that's why some of his moves glow blue now. Also if you notice he's got cracks in his skin...in about the same places as he started cracking after Ryu hit him with the Hadouken. He absorbed his old Psycho Power from the Psycho Drive in the DLC Season 2 trailer they showed live and when he does you can hear a warbling voice scream "INCONCEIVABLE!!", someone also pointed out to Chris in his reaction that when he's absorbing the Psycho Power you can see images of Bison in the energy he absorbs as he gains back some of his memories or something like that. Like I said...just spitballing my theory here until the 26th of the month when he drops and we get more info.
I think that, because Bison had a memory/identity wipe (or maybe due to the Power of Nothingness), he regained some of the "goodness" in his soul, and the blueish green energy seen during his attacks is him using regular Soul Power along with Psycho Power. It helps that this Bison doesn't seem to exhibit the same level of murderous glee he had in his past appearances, nor does he grin like a maniac every 5 seconds.
@@metsu-satsu4280 I actually thought that the blue flames may be Soul Energy as well since in the lore both Soul Energy and Psycho Power are linked very closely and Bison WAS the one to teach Rose in the first place. We need more info than just what we've seen so far.
@@ShinKyuubi Wdym "teach"? I thought Rose is basically the good half of Bison's soul that he purged from himself in order to create Psycho Power, manifesting as a person?
@@metsu-satsu4280 On the SF Wiki for Bison they have it stated with relevant links to official Japanese material that Rose was Bison's student in how to use Soul Power, the pages are from official Japanese books such as "All about Street Fighter Zero", "All about Street Fighter Zero3" and "Street Fighter Memorial Archive: Beyond the World" that last one actually has a link to the two page spread of a relationship chart for characters and with Bison/Vega and Rose it list them as Former Teacher and Disciple. I have a theory that when Ryu blasted Bison in SFV, he also sent whatever remaining traces of the Satsui No Hado he had left in him into Bison along with the Power of Nothingness, So Bison's grappling with that and his Memory loss
After Ryu "killed" him, he woke up in an alley in Metro City (I shit you not) devoid of all of his memories, but not his personality, which makes sense. So he rides around one a horse he found...somewhere, looking for his identity.
2 things I love about this version of bison. The way he is animated, and the Power of Nothingness. They put a lot of weight behind his moves this time around. back then his moves kinda just looked like fighting game boss bs where he is barely trying and his psycho power is carrying him. Here... Absolutely not, this man is going to beat the ever living shit out of you. And then the blue energy he is using is the Power of Nothingness Ryu "Gave" to him. it looks like its clashing with his psycho powers in a way. when the psycho energy bursts out of his arm, he uses the power of nothingness to calm it back down. its very interesting and I really want to see how it plays into his character. because Bison should by no means be able to use it, yet here he is
Mai being right after Terry makes more sense than her being a whole year away. Max mentioned in his vid that Winter is usually the start of the next year so the latest we would get Mai is... March '25? They both show up right after each other in the animated trailer too but idk if that has any indication. But yeah... Elena's coming in Spring '25 and she would effectively end Year 2 of SF6. I can't wait to see those long legs of Elena's in motion.
6:50 Nah see, I didnt even peep that but youre definately right. because why the heck is she all the way on the end there as if she is the last to come out? It could just be a framing thing. But still we're gonna need some elaboration
Yeah I came in expecting Bison to just be same old same old. But, I’ll admit. Gameplay wise he’s looking really good. I still think we didn’t need him this time around but, after watching this trailer, I’m not upset anymore.
