- The weather’s been pretty bad lately, even for England!
Seems to rain practically every day.
However, this last Saturday at the Nostalgia Nationals, Santa Pod Raceway, 4th May 2024, the sun shone, and the rain stayed away.
It was the best day of the weekend by far.
I spent a good part of it shooting the breeze and putting the world to rights with my good friend Nigel Taylor.
Had a great time.
I tried out a hat fitted GoPro for my walk around the pits and sadly, didn’t have it adjusted right. Apologies for that,. It did make the video poorer quality than I like, but sadly didn’t realise until editing started.
I’ve learned a lesson though, and it will be sorted the next time I use it.

Santa Pod is my favourite place to go since Shakespeare shut down.
Yes, me too. I had some great times at Shakespeare raceway or long marathon as it was called before.

I’d agree with that. That’s what’s good….always new cars coming out all the time, despite the cost and the economy in general.

Do you have a lot of racing in Maryland? I’ve only been to beech bend in Kentucky and Gainesville and Orlando speed world in Florida
@shoestringmotoring Maryland International Raceway is an IHRA track. They have quite a few races there. The closest NHRA track is a couple of hours away in Virginia. Maple Grove (NHRA) is also close enough for a day trip, but that is in New Jersey. There are at least 6 dragstrips near that are close enough for a day trip.
