Closed Christmas Day (December 25)

In 1958, Koko Crater on the eastern side of O`ahu was set aside for development into a botanical garden. Plant collections occupy sixty acres of the inner slopes and basin of this 200-acre crater.
This garden focuses on the cultivation of rare and endangered dryland plants. Xeriscape concepts are used to transform this dry landscape into a garden where plants suitable to desert-like conditions can flourish.
Highlights: Hawaiian plants, African & Madagascan plants, Cactus & Succulent garden, Plumeria grove, Dryland palms

The irresistible urge to collect cuttings and propagate all of those beauties 😢❤
Wow so beautiful. I hardly see any frangipani here in Melbourne.
stunning! we have frangipanis like these all through my neighbourhood, just north of Sydney. definitely one of my favourite trees !
😲 wow what beautiful trees I had no idea they could grow this big !!!
I believe growing in a crater with its rich volcanic soil, while being sheltered from high winds, also helps 🤩
Beautiful!❤Thanks for sharing.
I wish i could have a such garden, actually 20 times bigger than it!
Great video ever ♥️✨✨✨👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Oahu's south-eastern corner, just a half-hour drive from the center of Honolulu. The entrance is free, plenty of parking, and some picnic tables as well, right in the midst of plumerias!
I never knew that they grow this big

@@lovetropicswilltravel thank you! Do they sell cuttings/potted plants/seeds?
@@rynaryna7565 I don't think they do, the whole place is more of an arboretum, they don't even have a welcome center. Maybe inquiring with them - or Honolulu Botanic Garden - if they hold sales or events would be a good idea.
@@lovetropicswilltravel gotcha. Thank you
Flowers were beautiful but the video was hard to watch because the panning was too fast..,,Have to remember that the camera lens isn't as fast as the human eye, so panning has to be extremely slow.
Interesting, thanks for letting me know 👍 😊
Just adjust the Play Speed on the Settings 🤷🏻♂️
