    This is what they do in Europe. They ask customers not to tip, because they pay their employees livable wages.

      M R I have not been to Europ, but my parents have traveled through several countries. They have stated that on several occasions when they tried to leave a tip, they were asked not to.

    The tip is made from discrimination.
    Stores should pay the right money to their employees.
    We have to end this bad system.
    Time is also very wasteful.

    This tipping trend is shit, I hated. I pay 12 bucks for a mix drink and you expect a tip? I don't understand why if all I did was tell you the name of the drink I want.

    One reason I absolutely HATE dining out, is the situation with tips. I get excoriated for over-tipping, but have been criticized for UNDER-tipping, too. Somebody's ALWAYS upset. And waiters DO get up in your face, trying to schmooze bigger tips. I HATE that, because I don't like people talking over my food, or breathing on me for no good reason. The whole thing is so stressful, I'd rather eat in my hotel room , or the car.

      @Richard-vq7ud 6 років тому +4

      Bunny Biedenharn I agree. I hate being shmoozed at restaurants. It is so fake. Pay them like everyone else, and if they dont treat customers well, they need to be fired.

      Richard, and it's so TENSE and DESPERATE, at times. Like you say, I wish the restaurants would just pay them well, and eliminate all that tension for both waitstaff and customers.

    I hope this trend continues. EVERY job is a service, either direct or indirect. Pay the restaurant workers a salary like indirect service workers. Do we tip the person behind the scenes, no. Why do we call it a "tip" when it is expected?

    So why can't tips still be accepted for the workers regardless of their wage which probably is minimum ? Why do restaurants not want their staff to go home feeling good that they earning some decent wage for doing the shittiest type of job.

  • @melicombs7001

    Waiting staff shouldn’t be tipped anymore than the chefs. America’s tipping culture is outright ridiculous. People go out to eat and pay for their food, the waiting staff are hired by management to do a job, they’re not doing it out of goodness or working hard for the customer, they’re doing the job they were hired to do!
    When I was a waitress in the UK we were not allowed to accept tips because it meant the customer would likely spend less on their meal or drinks if they were putting money to the side for serving staff.
    The chefs worked their arses off and didn’t get tipped!
    The worst thing is most Americans seem to think people should tip because managers won’t pay their waiting staff enough money for them to live off, so they expect customers to make up for it. No chance. They’re doing a job. If I want to tip anyone, I’d probably like to tip my doctor or a police officer, not a waitress who is working no harder than anyone else in the restaurant.

      Meli Combs if you are too poor to tip do not go out . The dollar menu is best for you . Sorry you are broke

    • @prophetseven728
      @prophetseven728 6 років тому +1

      If your so poor working at a cheap restaurant that steals the employees wages. You should stop begging costumers for tips and find a real job. That will pay you a fair wage. Like the ones that serve a dollar menu and still able to pay their employees. while making huge profits off said dollar menu! Guess what sometimes people tip at those dollar menu places too. So the employees get paid and a tip on top of that! Thats what tipping is about! Its a bonus! Stop being a sheep!

    Not just Europe most countries and continents around the world also don't Asia is another one. Like in Japan, tipping is considered an insult they view it as their service ain't good enough so you have to pay for good service most countries are similar the servers gets a decent wage just like any other job with a salary.

    Some restaurants have added other fees to the price of their meals. They still expect customers to tip. Sometimes I eat at a Chinese restaurant. They don't give customers a copy of the bill. I seldom eat at that restaurant because I don't know why there are hidden fees. A meal that should cost $9.95 will end up costing $11.50. I know the sales tax where I live isn't 16 percent. If they would charge $13.50 and not expect me to tip, I would eat there more often. The problem with tipping is mainly psychological. Many people don't tip at all. That's another problem with tipping.

      Brian Cook I believe it’s illegal to refuse a bill of sale.

    • @KingsportMan
      @KingsportMan 6 років тому

      They never give me a receipt for carryout ordering. They do have online ordering now. It's easy to understand what they are charging for if you order online. Apparently, there are no hidden fees. They just increased their prices. Food and gasoline are more expensive now. Food was cheap during the 1990's.

      Jew'sAreTheScumOfThePlanet BTW BURGER KING , KFC , Mcdonalds dont have waiters which i am quite sure these are places you frequently visit on a daily basis due to your opinion on tips, you serve your own self and throw out your own tray, those are your options if you want to save more money and dont want to give what you call 🤲(HANDOUTS)🤲. Just saying.👌

      Such an ignorant comment! What some dont seem to comprehend is that you always WANT customers in your establishment no matter what! So ud prefer them to go to mcdonalds? And lose a good 40 to 50 bucks for your establishment? Probably not your establishment i imagine, all you're focused on is your tip. Stop being so thirsty for a tip that you'd prefer to even lose business over a damn tip. If the job doesnt pay enough then get a better paying one
