"Dabbles" in opera! Sir, you have NO idea! But if you go down the Amira rabbit hole, you're about to find out! Please continue this journey! Amira is a phenomenal young lady both inside and out. Her life and endeavors, both musically and as a humanitarian, have been amazing -- and she's only 19! In this performance, she was 13. She won Holland's Got Talent at age NINE!
Oh yes, she taught herself to sing opera at a young age, she was 13 at this 2017 concert, and had already sung Nessun Dorma and The flower duet, both of which are quality pieces worth listening to. Other recommendations include, O mio babbino caro with the Andre Rieu orchestra, age 10, and La vergine degli angeli at 16. She is good!

Amira is awesome. You should check out her Hollands Got talent audition... wherebit all began really... She sings opera that she self taught her self at that point. There are many more songs of hers you should definitely check out

In the operatic field, the last Amira's performance is "Gesù bambino", an Italian Christmas carol interpreted by the greatest tenors (like Pavarotti himself) and sopranos. She went into a little church unexpectedly and began to sing impromptu, without any microphone, just accompanied by her father on the organ. You will see how she has improved his voice for three years. Now, Amira has enough power and technique to need no mic anymore. Stunning ! And very hopeful for the rest of her career...

A pity we couldn't see the video. There are no restrictions on this. This hymn was written by John Newton (born in London, 1725). He was a slave ship captain who became a Christian and an opponent of the slave trade. He wrote Amazing Grace as his testimony to the salvation he found it Christ. Amira would claim this as her faith also. Yes, Amira sings operatic arias and also hymns, classic crossover, musicals, etc. Many of her songs were recorded in South Africa, where she now lives. She is 19 now. One particularly beautiful song is "I'll Walk With God," a duet with the SA opera singer Lukhanyo Moyake.

12 years old here! She won Holland’s got Talent at 9 years old. She taught herself to sing opera by watching the greats on UA-cam. Following her win she was invited by Andre Rieu to perform 9 Mio Babbino at the square in Maastricht. Here she received a standing ovation from an audience of 10000, she was 10 years old. I strongly recommend you watch this.

I'm very familiar with this song of course, but this is my first time hearing Amira. She has a very unusual voice for this song and she does not seem trained to me. Her voice sounds a tiny bit raspy and very warm - definitely beautiful!
The song was written and composed by John Newton in the mid 18th century. Newton had a really interesting life. At 18 he came to work [against his will] for the Royal Navy, was given as a slave to the Princess of the Sherbro People [in what is Sierra Leone today] after failing to desert and entering a slave trade ship, later became a Captain of slave trade ships and invested into slavery himself, only to find himself nearly shipwrecked and turned to God after about 5 years - he worked as a trader and believed himself a Christian for another 4 years, until he retired from the trade, became a priest and years later an outspoken member of the abolitionist movement in Britain when he published a pamphlet about his years in - and experienced with the slave trade. The lines "I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see." in the song seem to reflect his views on the matter quite well.

Amira is widely considered to be the best singer in the world. She has amassed over 1 billion fans worldwide. Miss Amira also recieved a 10,000 person standing ovation at just the age of only 9. She also won Holland's Got Talent at age 9 as well. Amira has had no lessons or voice training to date. Amira's voice and quality might only be achievable after 20+ years of nonstop hardcore training. She has sought out vocal teachers and lessons countless times only to be told "I'm sorry, there is have nothing more I can teach you." She is now 18 years old and her voice is only going to get better. She says she learned from watching UA-cam videos.
