new rope about $1.49. g cable about $50.00. on the motorguides with the plastic guide for the pull rope I don't recommend this. the cable coating wears and then the steel cable destroys the plastic guide. also a lot of use wears the coating off and even the metal guide holes are damaged eventually. way worse than having a broken rope. the rope does not eat the plastic and even though I fish a lot I just keep a spare rope in my boat and inspect the motor rope a couple of times a season. if fraying is discovered it takes only 15 min to change even if its your first time. most pros don't keep a boat long enough to experience steel cable damage from worn cable coating. the bigger the motor the faster the wear rope or cable.. my spares are on a lot of friends boats. I check mine.
I also have a Motorguide Pro Series 46lb 12v (though it seems to be an older model than yours). I've seen numerous disclaimers stating that it's not recommended for Pro Series Motorguides.. I'm a little hesitant to pull the trigger on this due to that, but yours seemed to instal just fine. However, since mine's an older model I noticed that the hole to run the rope through literally sits flush right next to the shaft hole on the mount.. I wonder if that could pose a problem?
thanks for the vid, just ordered one!
Good video!!!

Hey Brian - How did the handle hold up? The negative reviews continue... However, I still see pros and others using them.
