Hi Nigel, looks really good and I'm looking to order one, but it adds a tax when I go to the checkout. I live in the UK, just wanted to check that's right. Many thanks
Hi Nigel, so glad they sent you one of these, it is a remarkable tool for the price you pay for it, I have had one for 6 months and it is so easy to use and clean and I haven't even changes from the .28 in that time because I still have my Iwata TR1 and CR for other tasks.
I have this airbrush and was impressed with the very fine work that can be achieved. This will be my go to airbrush. Have just ordered the fan spray cap and stand . . . Thanks Nige.
I have been using the same model for a while now with the fan cap , and it is an awesome airbrush , also I must say their customer services are brilliant , I had a problem with my Mobius 0.2 and sent them an email explaining the issue , had a reply the same day and received replacement parts within a few days , can’t fault them at all .
Congratulations on Dottie! What a little cutie. The Swallowtail is a lovely airbrush, however I got my comeuppance for not ordering it straight from Gaahleri (and hence helping you). It was ordered via the Gaahleri store on that online marketplace, and instead of putting the package it into a plain box, they put the mailing label straight onto that beautifully decorated packaging... I have the paper off, now to get rid of the remaining sticky residue.
I like their airbrushes as a cheap alternatives to H&S & Iwata. I have experience with all 3 brandsz. Great intro to this airbrush Nigel they are great to get into airbrushing. However, It is a huge shame about their Customer Service, I’m going through a really poor experience with them.
I've got the Mobius 0.3, and it's a fantastic airbrush for the money. It does everything my H&S Infinity CR Plus does and those are alot more expensive.
Barbatos Rex's input was the grip design and trigger design. He has big paws (like me) and the longer handle gives ab better grip rest for pinky finger. The longer and more curved trigger is also made fron a solid piece of aluminum rather than a thin machine pressed piece. There may be more but those are the main design changes from the GHAD 68. 👍😁
Bought mine about 10 days ago, and i am quite impressed. I noticed that push a lot of air, but having a twin head 25 liter compressor, i doubt i could have any problem.
The swallowtail is awesome. I have the red one, it's the same as the Barbatos Rex version. Did you know that the foam insert for the airbrush stand that's inside the box is a perfect fit for the round Ammo cement bottles, also for Ammo enamel wash bottles and maybe even for VMS flexy glue. So they don't tip over.
Never really got on with the double action brushes as I cannot get a comfortable hold on them. My large guns are all trigger, so will be splashing the cash on one of these as I get back into small models.
I have the Mobius 0.2 and 0.3, and the paint cup lids are a loose fit. Fixed by adding a thin layer of Krysral Klear pva. Otherwise fantasic airbrushes.
Hi Nigel, your title is slightly out it’s actually the GHAC-Swallowtail. Not GHAD.👍. I have the red coloured version. I also have a Grex and Iwata trigger brush. As my arthritis in my hands worsens I find them much more comfortable to handle than the traditional top trigger, although the trigger on the Mobius brushes does seem more comfortable than normal ones do. I have a 1/35 italeri S100 Schnellboote and the large cup and .7 needle will help make that easier. Also you can swap the cups with other brushes in the range too. I’d never thought of balancing the brush with the index finger. I will try that next time, thank you. Regarding the storage, I have a Hobbyzone modular storage and I store my brushes and accessories sing shadow foam Don’t forget that if you email Zeta at support, she will send you the breakdown drawings as a pdf files that you can display on a workbench screen. Great review Nigel. Say hi to Dottie. Forgot to say you could perhaps have your own Swallowtail edition with a grip in Fox terrier colours, two tone would look great.👍
Nigel, I’m happy you have a new housemate. I’m sure you’ll give each other much love. I wish you many happy days. Regarding this video, I’ll be interested in your Gaahleri experience in a year. I’m starting to have problems with my GHAD-68 and swallowtail. I recently purchased a mobius .2 which I like, but ask me in a year. Their product support is ???. They are quick to provide free parts but don’t really solve the problem. Full disclosure I’m a beginning modeler and use acrylics. But should that matter?
Thanks for your input John. This is exactly what this channel is all about, if in a year the airbrushes are failing i will tell you, but if they are great i will also tell you. I always try to give an honest review.
There appear to be a lot of considerations for airbrushing, looking for trigger models. Whats better for a newcomer to model building, this or Gaahleri GHAD-68? How much difference in quality vs Iwata Neo TRN2?
The Iwata will be better quality wise of course, as is shown in the price, but also consider the cost of spares on Iwata. As for trigger or normal airbrush, it's up to you?? Why not get both?
Congrats with the puppy. I have the same airbrush, I had the same issue with the delivered fitting for the quick release. I changed with an H&S fitting and problem solved. So the delivered went to the bin. I use the airbrush for primers and varnish only. Not high quality, but good value for the money
I have one that I've been using with the 0.5mm needle/nozzle for priming. I haven't tried the 0.7mm yet but it might be better with Stynylrez. I really like using it.

That doesnt seem right to me??? Maybe someone else can answer that one?
Thanks Nigel, it came up as an extra $20. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
I just went to buy something and it did in fact add VAT at 20%

Thank you for the time you put in to do these reviews. I do believe it's time for me to get a new airbrush.
Fantastic you have a new apprentice mate , all the best 👍🇬🇧👌🥳🥳🥳
Thanks 👍

I may have to treat myself in their black friday sale. Glad to see Dotty is settling in.

Sounds like time to go shopping. Thanks for the review.

Looking forward to this, I got exact same airbrush and fan cap for my birthday from the kids a few weeks ago but haven’t tried it yet!

Great videos as always. Unfortunately Gaahleri don't provide the Needle guide and ptfe o ring as a spare.
Have you emailed them? i bet they will sell you the parts.
@@NigelsModellingBenchyep.they keep giving me links to wrong parts. Same with ghad 68.

Nice airbrush! Give Dotty a cuddle from me
She gets cuddles all day!!

Just ordered one to replace the one I busted
Congrats with the puppy.

Copious congrats about the puppy. I always use Barbara Woodhouse's method of training dogs. Best of luck.
