bat bot with the arm-neck and an eel tail, and the kangaroo bot or dog bot body and you've got a pretty good frame for a mini robot dragon, and then dressed up at least as artfully as the alzhiemer's puppy bot.
If they could scale up the bat bot as a biomimetic low altitude aircraft you'd really be getting into heady territory.

My son did the storyboards for the movie with the big mechanical dog in it. It never existed as a working robot but only for scenes. The head, by itself, was operated by a man with mechanical inputs to make it animated. My son got to go and visit the robot dog and the men who made it and was impressed with their work.

Dude robots won’t take over. Everyone thinks this cause of movies and how new robotics is. Robots would be able to know that, just like neural networks that humans and AI both share, we would have to work together to make better.
Also most of these are going to be manufactured for the use of pets.

A robot bat would e perfect for nighttime surveillance. Would be great for home surveillance. Even while not in flight. A properly place fan or fans could provide a solution to the issue of getting them to ascend. Push them up where they can glide down. They can be placed at different stations providing a great range of video coverage. I’d love something like that.
How about a robotic Sasquatch now that would be a must-have keeping the forest and hunters from intruding in some areas with machine guns LED lights and more future realistic tree climbing and machine that is undestructible known to man and control by military
Recently saw a Dust sci fi short video. Two Swedish utility workers accidentally kill a witch. Then they have to kill her again. And again. And ... When they finally succeed it turns out all these hundreds of years she's been holding back the demons of darkness.
The ground begins to crack open in front of them ...

That lizard robot reminded me a bit of the Mobile Autonomous Sword from the movie Screamers ( 1995)

I’m waiting for the ‘Spot’ version of a small pack horse that I can saddle up and go for a hike in the woods. I have a rare form of Lupus that depletes my energy so much, a simple walk could tire me out and my muscles would stop working. ATV is nice, but can only be used on flat land, it can’t go over fallen limbs, rocks, or scale acrossed a small stream.

Cost will be a major factor. I can only imagine how expensive these robots are at this time. I noticed a lot of the search and rescue robots have an umbilical cord attached which could definitely be a problem in my mind. Will they be developed with just battery or solar assist and be able to send audio/visual back to a base operator?

These robots are astounding and I very likely would have “liked” and probably subscribed if you hadn’t ruined my enjoyment of the video by constantly asking me to. I'm never impressed by universities who make a robot that mimics a creature in nature unless it has an obvious application of use in the real world (although the snake is useful, as it can be used after earthquakes). A novel invention or one that does a better job of tackling a real-world problem than an existing invention is where it's at
