Such a helpful video at the right time! cake decor was amazing 😘 ya just one question the mlh prep program organized before mlh main program or after it bcoz i search for mlh prep program on it's official site but there was no clue about to it.
Mlh prep is organised mostly every 2 months, it's just a preview of 3 week and currently there are no prep program opened, only main fellowship 😊

Am I expected to explain my codebase function by function or I can explain generally and use postman or any other API Client

should I apply for prep first or direct main fellowship? Does my GSoC experience help when I apply main or prep fellowship? And what is the minimum stipiend for India. I've heard it's around 1k USD, is it really less then GSoC stipend?
Prep batches are not opened currently, but you can check website if they are, You can mention your contribution of GSOC in the essays also the stipend for Indians is approx. 1.2kUSD

no these are tracks in this fellowship, it depends on you whichever track u are comfortable.
Can you submit a college team project for code sample specifying your role OR only personal project will qualify?
If you are submitting a group project then u should have done significant contribution and you can explain each and every part of the project, but I suggest you to submit individual project
I have submitted a java console based application. Would it hamper my chance as it is actually not deployed?
No, it won't create any problem
I had applied. But, while in the application process, they had a exclusive requirement for certain programming languages which didn't include java. Further, even if we had to submit a code base apart from the mentioned programming languages, as far as i remember, they wanted it to be converted into the list of languages available. Is there a scope of java? Or, someone like me has to learn javascript, or rust from scratch to increases the chances of selection?
Hey they have certain criteria but in codebase there is always an option of "other" and same in language too so u can add your preferred because during my prep fellowship I submitted an IoT project and I was invite for a technical interview and got selected too.

I'm in 1st year and 3 months into web dev. And i think i shouldn't apply untill I've some good project. One of my project idea is a space centric web app which tracks ISS and space debris that uses free apis of nasa. I'll try to add live radio chatters of astronauts if i can fetch that from somewhere. Will this kind of projects gets attention? Or should i apply this year or wait for the next. I want some feedbacks for my project idea.

Yes mlh conducts hackathon every week also global hack weeks where they host technical workshops 😊
