Great video. A little help for those struggling with power - I've found the Neucleus / Ronin SC is pretty picky about the combination of USB cables and adapters that are used. The only setup that has worked for me is using the original Ronin SC USBC cable and a cheap USBC - Micro USB adapter. Other USBC cables have all failed to power the device when connected to the SC, but they do work when connected to an external power source like a battery bank, which is weird! So, my advice is you may have to try a few cables / connectors to get your setup working.
Great video Matt, I love this setup and I'm trying to make it work, but struggling to connect the ball head to the smallrig nucleus nano quick release as the holes aren't threaded... are you using some kind of nut on the other end of the ball head thread to secure the quick release plate? Thanks!
Your videos are quality, continued like this bravo. I bought all the accessories you mentioned, made the same wiring as you, but the engine is not powered, so it does not work. Do you think there is a reason? Thank you in advance for your return.
Thank you! Hmm... I wonder why it isn't working. Can you message me on Instagram @Matt.les with pictures or a video of the setup? I'll see if I can figure it out
Hiya Matt - followed your link to some of the gear and find that the USB C to micro adaptors you linked don't work. I get an initial flash of led (on the motor) via the Ronin splitter cable (which I am using to split camera control). Any ideas m8?
It goes: Ronin ➡️ Nato mount ➡️ Friction arm ➡️ Ball head ➡️ Nano Quick release The friction arm has a Nato clamp on one end and a 1/4 20 screw on the other. There are amazon links to everything in the description 🙂
Technically I suppose you could but there would be some challenges. Firstly, the DJI motor is made for a 12mm rod whereas the Tilta motor is made for 15mm so you'd have to either find a way to adapt the Tilta motor or have both rods on either side which might make it too front heavy. You' also need to find a way to power the Nano motor. So yes, I think it's doable but personally I don't think it would be worth it.
Definitely Matt actually I found success. After watching your video a few time I saw that dji came with that usb-c to micro USB adapter and forgot that it was in my box. I was using a regular usb-c to micro USB cable which didn’t work. I really don’t know why. But using the adapter it worked
Momatu Productions and the gimbal power is turned on? Sometimes you can accidentally overlook that. I hope you figure it out. It was quite frustrating when I couldn’t get it to work. Only thing I can think of is if you’ve got an external monitor with battery power and you can draw power from the monitor maybe you can use that.
Great video.

Nice one Matt. So glad you've started this. We are now officially 'UA-cam buddies'. Come back to the office asap.
Yay, that's all I ever wanted! I'll be back as soon as I start getting enough paid work again 👊
Super helpful, thanks much!
Great information Matt! Subscribed! Just got this gimbal and adding the parts you listed and can’t wait to put it to work. Thanks!
That moment when you see dji release a new gimbal and the sc goes back for refund . 😅
Another "UA-cam Buddy" right here. Thanks for the video! Subscribed
Thanks for this info💯👌😊
No problem. Thanks for watching!
Hey yo! thanks for all this! Could you link the DJI usb-c splitter?
good review, thx!
great to know that it also work with the ronin sc!!! that info dont exist ):
Great set up!
Sorry, but I don't understand how you have connected the motor to the Sony camera, in order to start/stop recording videos with the Tilta wheel.
Nice video Thanks!!!
That's great. that's way better.
THANK YOU
Sick setup mate! Now quit the Cola and make another great review!

Mine ronin sc shows error of motor pause and continously blinking 3red light after update can u help out

@@definitelymatt3708 Hi, I was wondering of it worked already before I buy my setup.

That's very strange. Can you send me a video of the setup and what happens on instagram? @matt.les
Does the ball head screw in directly to the small rig quick release plate? Thinking of setting up mine like this
It goes: Ronin ➡️ Nato mount ➡️ Friction arm ➡️ Ball head ➡️ Nano Quick release
The friction arm has a Nato clamp on one end and a 1/4 20 screw on the other. There are amazon links to everything in the description 🙂
Hi, is it possible to use both motors, Dji motor for the zoom lens and Tilta for the focus?

@@definitelymatt3708 Thank you so much!!!
I’m trying to setup the nano on my ronin sc and the usb c to micro USB doesn’t seem to be giving power to my motor. Annoying!
That's strange. Maybe try a different adapter? What cable are you using?
Definitely Matt actually I found success. After watching your video a few time I saw that dji came with that usb-c to micro USB adapter and forgot that it was in my box. I was using a regular usb-c to micro USB cable which didn’t work. I really don’t know why. But using the adapter it worked
Yeah, it's a very picky setup. If one thing is wrong, it won't work. Glad you got it working!
@@princesslolabean6406 So you're saying the DJI adapter worked for you? I just tried all sorts of cable and adapter combos with no luck :(
