I like to watch ur videos. You need to do a video about the right/proper way to to throw deck. Im a pipe welder by trade but I work for a local iron company from time to time or while im in between jobs. Watching Them throw deck is tiring they’re creating for more for themselves. Ive a work iron jobs with my pops who showed me the right way to throw deck. I quit trying to suggest to them how to do it right. But they say it’s slow the I’m suggesting. Doing it right isnt slow.
@@alexvalencia784 I got out in 96 did 26 yrs, The Changes over the years has saved lives and brought about greater safety overall but I think it came with cost to wages and benefits, used to get double time over 8 Insurance was 100 % medical, dental, eyes, and prescription no deductable plus unlimited bank hrs. It's still great work and a tight brotherhood, but a lot has been lost....Be safe out there it's still dangerous
Went to the bar got drunk this ironworker said he was strong, I said I was stronger long story short my back hurts but I fell in love with the iron and the trade! local 433
Just show up to the Local 377 hall and fill out an application and show them your drivers license and hs diploma and theyll have you a job within a week depending on how busy it is. Work right now in the bay is booming so you shouldnt have a problem.
That's right near me, fantastic to hear that there's work; been having bad luck with carpentry thus far. I'll go to the hall Monday. Thank you, maybe I'll see y'all up there one day.

No these power plants werent enclosed. were talking massive coal burning power plants . 60 ton columns 100 ton girders at the top. Any levels or floors were galvanized grating. Dragging grating was probably the most dangerous. They would fly stacks of grating up and two Ironworkers hooked them with homemade grating hooks made out of rebar one on each end and drag them across the beams as fast as they could to the other end of the structure and you were not tied off. They were in sheets about 12 ft long and weighed about 250lbs. Most of the Ironworkers on this job were just good ole country boys. One was the high school quarterback just recently out of high school for the summer. Next thing you know hes hanging Iron haha ! I bet his Mom would have kicked the foreman's ass if she knew her son was hanging Iron right out of high school !
You ironworkers are 100% badass!! My father and uncle ( both retired now)and two cousins are ironworkers.
Stab that fucking beam already red hardhat lol. Always enjoy watching your videos brotha!
