@superhobieboy I actually forgot it is a long time ago taht this clip was shot. But I remember the day before it was quite windy and rumors went that the race would be cancelled. The organizing commitee has rules according the wind and wind direction if the race can be sailed. Only one chance a year. They cancelled the race only once in all those years There is also a time limit half way. If you have not reache that point in time, you are taken out of the race.
ehhhh.. it is a long time ago, I guess the guy was 23. Does that help. I do not know what he taught at the time. Maybe he is a sailing instructor and the right meaning of that was lost in translation. BTW did you enjoy watching the sailing did you see the long version I made some odd 40 years ago about race number 2 or 3 in 1980. Well let's say I thought it was a bit saucy and I like the humour of that
@@poederbach I did like it. I grew up sailing cats then switched to kiteboarding since I don't have the space to keep a boat nor any friends dumb enough to go out with me. It's fun to watch these videos and remember the sensation of going full tilt on the wire.
The supercat. Gosh that's an awesome boat. I wish there were more.
greetings from germany - i like this video
also greetins to all Cat-sailors
I sail a Hobie 16 and do a solo trapeze all the time. You can't beat the exhilaration. I'm going to do Texel before I die.

De Cocksdorp or De Koog are the places to be. Good luck.
The guy who wins is a teacher with a 17 year old girlfriend. Times have changed I guess.
