Hi, I'm not a super experienced driver. I'm younger and I've never been on the interstate. I want to go on a 20+ hr solo roadtrip coming up and am nervous but excited! Are there any tips you could give me?
"Solo roadtrip" I see it now. Apologies for that. Yes, plan to take a break every couple of hours. Split it up into 2 days or perhaps 3 days. Plan where you're going to stop for the nights. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. When you stop for bathroom breaks go for a 5 or 10 minute walk. If you do stop and have a big meal, be sure to go for a 30 minute walk before driving again. Get plenty of sleep if you can. And be aware that at around 3pm you may want to take a break. That's usually when our biological clock dips. On long trips, I like to listen to audio books. They keep me engages. And of course, use cruise control as much as possible: ua-cam.com/video/gMCE9CJtFdw/v-deo.html See this vid if you're going to drive at night: ua-cam.com/video/6WbYpgn6T4c/v-deo.html And this vid for driving in the rain: ua-cam.com/video/nMqhbZB65so/v-deo.html All the best, Cheers Rick
