Great video as usual. You can always count on taito and tamsoft game having banger soundtracks, always! I think the reason why Cosmowarrior Zero's soundtrack feels all over the place was because the late 90s was the time when zuntata went full experimental with their work.
Throughout history mankind has built monuments and murals to Wheel and here we have further proof, in the form of a VHS, that Wheel is Life, Wheel is love and will always provide. Praise Wheel.

This is so much great content all in one video. I love this series and your content Sean and watch many of your videos multiple times, sometimes attentiviely, sometimes in the background. I hope the ad revenue gives you the kickback you deserve for your quality content mate. Love and appreciation for this my guy.
I've become the biggest fan of all these very long videos that are some kind of retrospective or something like this. Thank you for the crazy amount of time I know you put into this and it shows that it's a passion. Bless people like you.
I've been trying to remember the name of Gamera 2000 for SO LONG and thanks to this video I finally did... along with finding a couple other fun games to check out.
Well. Looks like my second monitor is going to be showing a lot of Japanese PS1 games for the next six hours or so. edit: holy shit in 4:3 as well. I need to get a CRT.
Randomly found your channel the other day and must have gotten 10 watch hours already. These videos are really comfy. Impressive prep work, well edited + you have a great voice. I wish I retained your enthusiasm for actually trying all these games.
@@SeanSeanson Ooh! Do I sense a "South Park" PS1 Winter video coming? 💛 I replayed the first-person shooter on both N64 and PS1; the former is shit, and the latter has made me apologise to "Sabrina the Teenage Witch: A Twitch in Time".

"It all makes a lot of sense, and we should not question it. At all." So, you get a cute robot waifu AND get to pilot a cool giant robot AND can become a hero who saved the earth from aliens? Unironically, no reason to question such situation. (also, that game looks so 90s anime, lol)
@SeanSeanson Please, please bring back this style for PS1 videos! This is how I remember PSX games looking like on a CRT back in the day. Raw pixels = not it

Video game history is so deep, anytime you think you discover an original idea there's always a breadcrumb trail that leads back to something incredible from the 70's and 80's! Thanks for sharing :)
Watching on a Sharp 480p LCD from the late 90's that my family paid way too much money for because it was cool and new. Took another 8 years before we owned an actual HD LCD.

1:16:00 have you attempted to go back to this now that image reading translators are much better? I've found recently that I can get through some amount of Japanese dialogue if written in a game through google's machine translator.
Luckily I haven't really come across many text-heavy Japanese games in the past few years, so I haven't had to break out many of the newer tools available for such games. But I think if any game deserved a revisit at some point, it would probably be this one.
3:30:19 "The soundtrack is so good!" > proceeds to play some horrendous music Just kidding around brother, this is an incredible video, a storehouse of great video games. Thank you!
There are some really noticeable audio glitches and dropped frames during Lucifer Ring, pretty distracting, hopefully the rest is clean like the first several reviews
It's a result of the VHS transfer, I could see how it's annoying but I like that it's authentic to the VHS experience, flaw and all. It's the only part of this compilation video that has that issues at least, so hopefully it's something you can overlook.
Creature Shock must have had some influence on Kingdom Hearts with its terrible gummi ship gameplay. Weird that they didn't add bosses to make the gummi ship levels a little more interesting until Kingdom Hearts 2 ~ but it's still terrible and should be a game on its own instead of interrupting the game with someone's side project lol
@@SeanSeanson I'd watch even if there were no timestamps. I like your style with these videos, especially the graphic design element. Very aesthetically pleasing, perfectly fits the games you cover. And you've got a great voice for the job.
2:19:24 late comment, but 'kusoge' is generally, as far as i understand it, reserved for games that are "painful" to play. one of the bigger letsplay channels on the jp side played dragon's lair one and two and the second one especially was termed as a kusoge because of how brutal and unfair it can be despite the fantastic presentation. guy lost his fucking mind completing it the games that are ridiculous and funny but not "tear your hair out trying to play the game" type bad tend to be filed under the same term as genuinely good games, 'kamige', which translates to 'god game'. i think generally speaking the jp side teeends to be more likely to forgive a game if it's funny than the eng side is, garten of banban got really big there even though very few of the really popular letsplayers understand english for example. it's ridiculous enough to get a lot of genuine laughs, despite being obviously bad thank you for your hard work by the way, this video's definitely getting replayed multiple times in the future :)
