- Friendship ended with V60. Now COLUM is my new best friend.
Brewing the Pepe & Jose Jijon SEY collab coffee with the Melodrip COLUM mini pour-over dripper! Thank you Doug, Alex, Harold, and Simba for hanging out and tasting coffee ☕ Lost Origin also makes an appearance.

Thanks for featuring the COLUM! Regarding the setup, after pre-rinsing the filter paper, grab the glass column by the sides and place it onto the dripper and shift slightly left/right to set it onto the filter ring. You don't need to press down hard, just add light pressure as you shift the glass laterally in two axis. As long as the filter paper is flattened it should seal, if not just let me know and I can help you out.
Some roads get you there faster and others take the long way around but all roads always lead back to the V60 - some caffeinated dude
the issue with the seal already seems frustrating
looks complicated putting pressure on glass onto metal
I can’t wait for it to come in! 🎉
Brian Quan, Great content!
I love coffee, testing and tasting seems great but after two cups I am wired and for me the party is over. If I don't brew my first cup correctly (at 5:30 in the morning), I can either throw it down the sink, or live with it. Early in the morning the first cup of coffee better be a home run cause I ain't got time to mess around.

Interesting method. Might experiment with replicating this with an Aeropress brew chamber on a v60
I dont get the obsession with extraction lol but looks cool
I wonder if you can fashion something similar with a Kono and modified Tricolate 🤔
how the fuck a piece of metal and glass could cost so much???? rofl prices
Why don’t you try to manufacture a product and then come back and tell us how much glass and metal cost.
Brian Quan, good content
That's a cool Spider-man shirt.
Interesting. I think I want one... lol
Lol pulsar also actually tastes gud :p
pulsar for sweetness and mega transparency. colum for that acidity and juice
The Column is pretty frustrating for me at the moment. Extremely long draw downs. Inconsistent from one brew to the next. Not a fun workflow and a slight pain for quickly cleaning.
try the recipe we did here! Brews we did in this video were tasting great and behaved the same when brewing and in the cup.
@@BrianQuan how coarse did you guys go? Like a French Press? Side note I ordered your Sey Collab!!! Looking forward to it!
Have you tried folding the filter a bit narrower than along the seam? It could be that the filter paper isn't fully in contact with the dripper.
@@raymurakawa6621 I will try this thanks. I will vary grind size too.
@@raymurakawa6621 I went way coarser and folded a bit narrower. 4:42 ish on total brew time but thinner on the body than I had hoped. I will tighten the grinds a bit and see how it goes. What is a typical draw down/total brew time supposed to be?
Brian Quan, mid content!
