We were equally lucky to have had the best ballpark in the world too.l.. Tiger Stadium! No one will ever convince me that there was a justifiable reason to pull the Tigers out of their historic home and then have it demolished. Especially when I see Tiger Stadium's sister ballpark (built the same time as Tiger Stadium in 1912) is still going strong at 111 years old.
Yep, I miss all of those great players, the announcers, and the Grand stage they once played on at the Corner of Michigan and Trumbull in Detroit. Yes, people pass away... things change... It's inevitable, but the passing of Tiger Stadium didn't have to be.

That Gibson HR was on a Sunday afternoon....It was Gibson's first dramatic HR to win a game and three years later he would do it in the World Series, and then just for fun do it again with the Dodgers in 1988. He was something else! And the call by George Kell is so great to hear...Kaline lets out a whoop too! Kaline worked long and hard with Gibson to make him a player. They were very close.

Watched/listened to this a few times. Nearly missed Kell’s comment that this was Gibson’s first AB of the game. That’s right…this was a PINCH HIT, three-run walk off home run. Fast forward to the 1988 World Series - Game 1, bottom of the 9th, two outs: Gibby knew he could do it because he had done it before. In Tiger Stadium!

Just two old salts talking when needed and calling it like it was. So sick of non-stop yacking by talking heads and all the junk on the screen. Even worse blabbing on the radio. I remember this moment as a kid, one of my highlights before '84 put them over the top.
I am annoyed by the lazy choice to change the aspect ratio to letterbox from the standard more or less square picture. Lazy because the cut done to the video was from both the top and the bottom evenly which means there are moments in which the camera shot seems to cut off Gibson's head. C'mon, spend a couple of minutes and do it right or just leave the original aspect ratio of the recording alone.
