Nice little Kabota. The Grey Market tractors were built for import to countries other than the USA. Japanese imports were fine here as long as they were built for here. Main differences were safety features. The Asian models were narrower for use in rice patties. They had a tendency to roll over easier here. No ROPS on the Grey Market tractors either. Many Kubota dealers still won't sell you parts for them. At least around here they won't. Those 70s Kabota are as bullet proof as they come. Need someone like you over here in Pa lol And hey while I’m here, what is your thought of a John Deere B (or higher) vs the Farmalls of that era. The one you have there, other than maybe needing a little paint, looks great. Will definitely pick up a B no matter what, but I’m just curious on which you would prefer
I just Bought a 1980 Allis Chalmers 5020 with a FEL 4WD for $900. Same tractor as the MF 210 made in Japan. They imported them from 1977-1985. Runs a brushhog, snow blade and box blade just fine.
Crazy D, $1800 for a decent running 9N is really at the top of the price range for those. If it was all restored than you could justify that price. I see them in good running condition for $800_$1000 all day long. Why specifically is that one worth $1800
I think you're right back when I made that video that's about where the market was sitting but that n-series Ford tractor market keep slipping here pretty soon they're going to be worse pennies on the dollar
I'd love to wax that Kubota down and make that orange paint pop again. Interesting information about the Grey Market. Would be a good future video to show all the attachments at work!
In Australia, the International 414 is the dime a dozen 40 horse tractor. But everything is dear here, $2k AUD (1500 USD) Is the bare minimum for a rough but running tractor.
Just to clarify on gray market Kubotas - Kubota had a cease and desist order (CDO) against the importers as the GM tractors did not have PTO shields, safety switches and ROPS. There were differences in the mechanical parts as well but now with the rise of the Internet, I am sure you can now get parts for any of them. Also there is a Zen Noh version - a version sold through Japanese coops was imported by a WA company who sidestepped the CDO as they were badged as Zen Noh. Good video and to the point for the market needs.
That B5100E probably isn’t gray market. If this tractor was gray market, its model number would likely be B5001 and all writing on the tractor would be in Japanese. On the older models the serial numbers look a little tricky because most would start off with the gray market model number before the serial number since they used many of the same parts in this case the transmission tunnel. My family used to own a Kubota dealership back in the 70s and 80s. Kubota has a few articles on their web page that goes into great detail explaining the gray market deal and which tractors are effected. As for getting parts, you can get parts for the gray market tractors from the dealers if you know the North American version of the tractor. If all else fails the internet is loaded with places that have the parts available. Essentially the gray market tractors were the same tractor as their North American counterparts just as rugged and dependable but missing certain safety items to meet North American specifications because they weren’t meant for the US market.
Thank you very much for pointing that out I am going to do a video on grey market tractors and correct my mistakes I was using an article printed in a magazine I read a year ago information and apparently it had some serious inaccuracies I do apologize and I do plan to fix the mistake here shortly and get the correct information out

I had a 1950 8N and loved it. I know I'm coming late to this video, but I hope you found a buyer for the 8N at the end of the video. The leak might be a bad gasket on the top cap. At about the area where you pointed, there is a galley that feeds hydraulic oil from the pump to the piston in the top cap. If the gasket is bad or the top cap is cracked, oil will shoot out.
Awesome stuff. I just came across your channel and enjoyed your post. I would love to have any one of those machines. They all look good. Thank you for sharing.
I agree with you on the Farmall M Side of (Auction prices/Estate/Farm Sales) But on craigslist depending on state around me they go for no less than $1250 - 3500+ But the Case, on the other hand, CHEAP HP... :D
That 9N is incredibly cute. I have no knowledge of tractors and don’t really know why I’m here. Probably just interested in learning something new but if I ever have a large amount of land I’m going for the 9N!
Most "grey market" Kubotas are the same as models that were sold by Kubota dealers. My B6100 is the same as a B6001 (grey). The issue became more complicated when Kubota lobbied for import restrictions on used equipment that lacked mandatory safety equipment like ROPS. Later, the Japanese government passed emissions laws which caused many older tractors to be exported. Check for parts availability before you purchase a used Kubota. Yanmar tractors have wider parts sharing between models than Kubota, but many older Yanmars are only 2 wheel drive. An older Yanmar will likely have a wider options for aftermarket parts than a Kubota. If not Ebay, online dealers like Messicks.com are good sources of parts.
Man I wish you were closer to NC with those prices, the dealers and private sellers around here are legit 2-3 times more expensive for the same equipment in the same or worse condition

Crazy D Equipment,What are your thoughts on the smaller John Deere tractors using Yanmar engines?I was recently in the Market for a small tractor and was surprised to open the hood on one and find a Yanmar engine residing there. After looking at New tractors,I decided to go the cheap, reliable route and bought a Ford Jubilee.
I think you made the right decision on purchasing the Ford I'm not 100% for sure but I was told that John Deere's with the yanmar engines can be very difficult to find parts
You should check out used tractors in North Dakota and then go to BisMan. Tons of old and newer used tractors and pretty decent prices. If I decide on one I might run it by you to see if you think it’s a decent bargain. Thanks for your videos, I love em!
Those gray market Kubotas are great tractors, I have a 2wd L2000 (20hp), I paid $2200 about 8 years ago and it came with a loader, 5' finish mower and 4' box blade. The only issue I have had with it in the 8 years of using it is the water pump started leaking. I use the poor little tractor hard in our 1 acre garden. Now the reverse gear is needing replaced, it has a noise and pops out of reverse. Do you guys do work on other peoples tractors? I've been wanting to get it fixed but I have never done anything with a transmission.
For some reason I enjoyed this video even though I have no interest in buying another tractor I have 3 now lol what state is your lot located? where in am from the case, ford, and Kubota are worth minimum double for even shit ones and the Farm there are a minimum of 1200 to 1400 in the Same shape. The tractors I have now all vary in size for different jobs around the farm. I have a JD 4010 with full hydraulic loader and cab then a Massey Harris 44 with a full hydraulic loader, hydraulic hook-ups, and power steering and a little 9n with a trip loader and hydraulics. IMO perfect sizes to have but I would get either a slightly bigger tractor and anther compact tractor or just another 100 hp with a loader.
Crazy D Equipment that explains it! I am in northern Minnesota so even if there's tons they are all "worth there weight in gold"(atleast people think they are) just because of the rust especially in older equipment.

Crazy D, Would you do a review of a Belarus 250AS? They are very cheap and powerful. I have heard love and hate stories about them. Would love to hear your opinion. I always get the "can't get parts" story from those who hate them. I want to know more about the durability for light use. I would say that I am an intermediate mechanic for DIY repairs. Thanks!!
I've always actually kind of like Belarus tractors I remember when they first come into the United States I seen one at an Ag show and test test drove it I was way back when I was in high school yeah you always hear from the haters that you can't get parts for him but actually eBay and there's a few other sites that are your best friend on being able to find parts for him and there are Belarus Steelers still in the United States it just seems to me that the majority of those are on the East coast they are very simple. Operate in and work on they always seemed to me like they were also pretty ruggedly build besides the fact if I ever get one on the lot will definitely do a video on Belarus tractors

What wheels and tires are you running on the kubota b5100e???
I remember a neighbor using a Duetz. Wonder why they never caught on more than they did?
Will the 8n's 3pt pick up and carry a round bale? About 600-800lbs
No the three-point maxes out at 800 lb and you would have to wait the front end down quite a bit to be able to lift around bill that size
@@CrazyDEquipment what about a little newer like a jubilee or an 800 series?
Yes a jubilee or 800 series with lift and around bill that size but I wouldn't get any bigger
I need this first one
Damn D! 3 M's for $25 a piece!! Old Gas Tractor pulling is popular around me so M's are gold as are any decent HP pre 1950 gas tractor. ANY M and I mean ANY M that the crank isn't stuck on would sell for $1000 and running beat to hell ones go for $1500
Sadly people pass/get sick and the new families just don't have time for it.
Like the video. Where are you located?
We are located just on the westside of Newton Kansas
@@CrazyDEquipment Thank you Sir!! I have seen several down here in the Alabama, Mississippi area. Most have been more dealers down here.
Man I'd love to find one for a decent price. Can't touch a none running/ rolling Farmall M for under $700 here.
Wow where are you from I'll tell you honestly around here most the time you can buy a running Farmall in for 500 bucks or less
@@CrazyDEquipment central Illinois. I was lucky to find a 1952/53 AC WD , and WC for $300 each. WD had engine tore apart , left out in weather . WC was locked up. Everything froze up. Pistons / liners were junk. Wouldn't roll. Bad tires . Was planning to slap WC engine on the wd, but it ended up being more than soaking the cylinders. It was a bad time in my life for that big of a project. I parted them out and made a little money . Now things are better in life , everything project wise is over priced ! May as well spend $1000-$1400 on something that at least runs on starting fluid !
Why are the tires on backwards on the Ford?
Love the vid...looking forb20 to 30 hp 4wd prefer kubota but ....
Think posdible to find
Crazy D my man you know anything about chainsaws?

Do Ford make any tractors now? I know in the UK they had a huge plant that supplied 50% to 100% of Europe area from that factory but in the 1990s they sold that part of the company
Ford still making tractors but they come out under the name of New Holland
I love watching you and I am looking for a tractor to mow Two acres, plow and a blade for spreading dirt rock or snow . Something reasonable in price and a good tractor . Let me know if you have anything I would be interested in thank you .
I have a very nice 9n Ford on the lot $2400
I'm no farmer, how big of a plow will a 85 horsepower two-wheel drive tractor pull?

Thank you for doing your video.
what about the long tractor is it good
they can be unfortunately the long tractors were manufactured by three different companies and it just fitted depends which company built your tractor
My property is in house springs missouri. If I bought a tractor off your lot is there anyway possible to have it hauled here. I'm not sure the cost of it or if I'd have to get a flat bed myself and drive up to you and bring it home
I do have some guys that haul for me and do my delivering of tractor they charge a dollar fifty a mile
@@CrazyDEquipment thats a reasonable price
You have really good content, please keep it up. Please consider doing some videos like TractorSpotter or MrPete2222 tractor videos. My son and I love everything tractors.
DOES YOUR PRICE INCLUDE SHIPPING?
Those old farmalls are not worth buying their like parade tractors but they are good in woods
75k views on my suggested video. Heck ya. Gotta show a video of filling up the lp tractor. And whatever mic system the wizard uses go for that. And to be honest I would copy cat alot of the wizards ways of shooting videos. His channel seems to be rolling.
Car Wizard sent me! Enjoy the content so far.
Well welcome thank you for coming in and enjoying
Do you have any for sale?
Do you have old Massey Fergusons in the US? Tractors are cool!:-) PS. Car Wizard got me here:-)

Good Heart Old American-built model 35s and 135s are plentiful here. Coventry-built ones appear from time to time as well.

How much for the bmw?
Haha small Asian fellow!!! Brilliant 👍
If you want to enjoy a long life you'd have to say no to the bad food man, you'll be far better off in life if you sort out your health as soon as possible. It's not worth the gratification of 5 mins of a big plate of food which will punish you later in your life.
Just think about it. But if you enjoy your life as it is (but be honest) then keep living like you are doing ,but if you are not just put a little effort in and change your diet and exercise, you will enjoy life more and more everyday because of it.
I had a medical condition that caused me to gain weight incredibly fast from within a year I put on 300 lb it's been corrected and I'm working on losing the weight it sure no hell doesn't come off as easy as it goes on since this videos been filmed I'm 55 lb lighter and I'm working on it slowly a diet of chicken and vegetables it will be a slow process but we are trying but thank you for your concern
wow! all it is for sale? but there are history! I feel a philosofical answer/question...for what???
I was sent to the Car Wizard's (and WatchJRGo's) channel by Hoovie, and to your channel by the Car Wizard!
By the way, I think Car Wizard's logo would look funnier if it shows him holding a flashlight 🔦 from his mouth. I used to see his flashlight in his mouth a lot back in the day.
