    600 might be suggested retail, but $400 is pretty common for actual purchase. I presently have 45 of them deployed.

      Oh wow that's impressive. YES mind has been working fine so far with virtually no issues. What provider or platform do you have the 45 deployed on? Just curious.

    • @gerrymiller7401

      Through a local vendor here. If the provider registers with Yealink, they can get those price breaks. I bought 3 T58W Pro's for testing from CDW at about $430. Adding and removing apps on an enterprise level is a bit of a challenge but getting the hang of it. They could sure stand to improve that capability since most would be deploying a decent number of them and would need them all configured the same.

      @@gerrymiller7401 Ok so now I have a question for you... how do you get the Google Play store or get apps like Zoom, etc on the phone? Were you able to figure that out? If so I'd be curious to know how you did it. Between videos in the studio, and being sick I just haven't had much time to really dive into and figure out how to install apps, etc.

    • @gerrymiller7401
      @gerrymiller7401 2 роки тому +1

      You have to setup an http server to get the apps into the phone. You download all of the apk files you need and load them into the http server. If you're just provisioning one phone, you can do this from the phones web interface with a config file. The http server will display the IP it's using and you'll reference that with the name of the apk file. I found this video useful as it has a nice basic text in the comments you can use (just replace the IP/file info with yours). ua-cam.com/video/QORaQNjQId0/v-deo.html

    Have had this phone for a week now and truly love it. Only thing I would love to have is a user guild to help me set up all the features. I don't have a "dedicated" IT person to do it. The Quick Start Guide provided is really not any help. Also, love your review videos.

      YES it's an awesome phone, but I agree the manual in it is... LACKING! haha. You got gotta admit it's one of the best Yealink phones out there currently! Just not the most tech friendly for people who want to customize it with their own apps or software capabilities.

    Can the battery be changed in that handset? If not did they tel you what the life expectancy of it is?

    • @RichTechnologyGroup
      @RichTechnologyGroup  2 роки тому

      You know that's actually a really good question, but I'm going to assume NO it cannot be changed. I've seen the handset itself for sale online on places like VOIP Supply or Amazon but never a battery for it. My guess is, like most newer cell phones, the batter is soldered inside and you can only replace the entire headset and then repair it to the base.

    • @RichTechnologyGroup
      @RichTechnologyGroup  3 роки тому +1

      For not not many VOIP service providers support or can provision with this phone, but I suspect that will change sometime soon in first quarter of 2022. When that time comes I have EVERY intention of using it as my daily IP phone, so maybe I'll do a indeph post usage a review video for the channel. Stay tuned! 😀

      @RichTechnologyGroup  2 роки тому +3

      That's actually a really good question. I'm not 100% sure if and how to do it, but I saw a place in it where it asked for "google authentication". I have always been under the assumption you can connect it to Google Suite but I'll ask my Yealink contacts directly to find out.

    • @IndyColts1987
      @IndyColts1987 Рік тому

      I started testing side loaded APKs today. You just need a local http server and do some config or autop tricks to provision and download them. Unfortunately the horsepower is a little weak in these. The zoom meetings were a little jittery, especially with lots of movement on the camera. Teams ran a bit better. Whatsapp never provisioned, always got stuck on syncing conversations but that may have come from the APK I tried to use, not sure yet.

    Which service can I set this up with? Ooma, Verizon ? Which one supports it?

    • @RichTechnologyGroup
      @RichTechnologyGroup  2 роки тому

      I'm not sure about Verizon, but I know Ooma boasts that they support provisioning for Yealink, so this particular model may work with Ooma but we would have to confirm that up quote, etc. My best guess is that YES it probably can be provisioned with Ooma's VOIP phone services.

      @RichTechnologyGroup  2 роки тому +1

      @@mblowery Hi Michael, I know it works with Vonage because that's what we use internally and it's my day phone, but I can't confirm quite yet which other VOIP providers it supports. Once I know more, or start seeing more new clients each month using it, I'll report back.

    • @RichTechnologyGroup
      @RichTechnologyGroup  2 роки тому +1

      @Michael Lowery In THEORY (this is what I was told) if the hosted PBX provider you are using already supports Yealink provisioning and supports open-SIP then it should in theory work, which means most of the providers on our channel that we mention support or sell Yealink internally, should be able to provision it, but please keep in mind it's NOT certified by the providers yet, so while rare, you could still encounter features that may not work with the carrier. I haven't experienced any with Vonage thus far after about 2 months use so that's a good sign. 😉

    Why do a review and then you don't test Zoom and Teams (you don't even check if you can install it from the Play Store)? Surely that would be THE reason why an executive would fork out the dollars for this pretty expensive handset otherwise it's just a fancy receptionist handset.

      If you watch any of the dozens of product/hardware reviews we do, you'll realize they are more of a hardware review showcase. There isn't enough time in a day unfortunately to show every application, every use case and every capability of a given phone. We give enough key points, specifications and honest pros and cons to help our viewers decide if the phone makes sense to investigate further. Thanks for watching and for the constructive comments.

    • @RichTechnologyGroup
      @RichTechnologyGroup  2 роки тому

      Also, in order to install apps on that phone, we discovered you have to have like a dedicated apps server. It's pretty messy, but I was told by an IT Manager client we worked with, that if you have the hardware and know what you're doing it's quite easy, BUT for the purposes of our review in our studio, no way I'm setting up a dedicated applications server for one phone. It's just not practical, especially since this is one of like 100+ IP phones we review and will be reviewing.

    I think you should actually plug it into a working environment and give actual feedback. This is an obvious sponsored review as you’ve spoken so greatly on features (main one being the wireless handset) without actually using it and seeing what kind of range or quality it has. While I’m looking for a valid review of this phone as I’m considering getting some for my workplace, I can honestly say your review gave 0 unbiased information and now have wasted time and need to find a working environment review.

      I actually use this phone currently. Used it for almost 1 year on Vonage, and am currently using it as my primary phone, again, on Zoom Phone. Most of what I stated in the video remains the same, HOWEVER... to be clear the thumbnail literally says "first impressions" meaning, my first impressions of the phone RIGHT out of the box. In the video I even open it, NEW right out of the box, so i'm not sure why anyone watching would expect a full on in-depth review of days/weeks/months of use, if they saw me pull it RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX in the video. Furthermore, we were one of the FIRST people to receive that phone for review, before it was compatible with almost ALL of the major providers we represented at the time. At the time of that video it was ONLY compatible with Vonage, and even then they would NOT certify it for use because it had only been on the market for about 2-3 months.

    You are sure this by 9:06” is just for a standard traditional headset and not a connection to a standard phone router? Our Landline Provider just offers the HD-Phone Yealink T46S by RJ11 and we do not really like the function of an IP Phone. The Gigaset Fusion is too much for us even if it fits the need perfect but the integration and teaching costs to ever person integrated are too high to get it operated, much more higher than the purchase price of the device ….. Well, we are too big to go into a business day just be Cellphones but we never ever need more than one line (since it isn`t used that often at all) and won’t keep things as simple so we do not like to hire a company to get things installed or getting add. landline services to solve the issue. Landline = customers = income = must work 100% = no technician wait time in case of failure acceptable = keep it simple for everyone, even for the newest or oldest employ.
    What we are looking for. Something which can by easy connected true a RJ11 Kable. 2-3 more phones which can connect to the main stations itself (so the person how have time can pick up the incoming call). When everyone leaves it`s working place, a push of a button on the main Station and it is forwarded to the mobile phone. 3-4 different phone announcements and this Plug and Play by RJ11. So something for the greatest growth in the next 20 years that no one thinks about yet, for small companies with 2-4 employees in production by one land line. Where everyone also carries their mobile phone with them. Way a add. landline: So the mobile phone number is not given to every customer because people should get their rest time too.... and in add. Landlines numbers just looks more professional than just mobilephone numbers.
    And if we really dream about something, maybe an announcement like “if you want technical advice, press key 1, if you want general information, press key 2, if you like to leave a massage press key 3, if it an Emergency outside of regular business hours press key 4 - free adjustable to the actual needs....” but just in case someone of us have time to got true the operation manual and it can by turened on and off just by a push on a buttom.
