I got fitted for the 2020 0211 when it was new...paid $289. But at the time the Ping, Taylormade, Callaways...they were upwards of $500. I hit a bunch of them and the PXG was every bit as good as the others for almost 1/2 the price. Yes, PXG did drastically bring down the price, but for me, even at $289 it was worth it compared to other big name drivers. I love this driver and for me its a rocket launcher!
Picked 2 drivers up because of your your video. One for me one for the wife as a Christmas gift. 250 for 2 brand new drivers is just nutty! Oh and it goes just as far as anything else I've hit. Mine is the Mat finish looks way better than that one in this video
I know this video is about PXG but I just received two drivers mentioned in one of your last videos. I got the Callaway GBB Epic in 9 degrees and the Cobra F9. Each one in fantastic condition, each one with upgraded x flex shafts and pristine grips (and head covers). Total $245 USD. THAT is why I love the second hand market. I can “test” both to see which suits me best and not lose a dime :)
Love the video. Picked up the O211 irons when they were on sale for 79 a club. Loved the fact that I could choose custom length, lie, and weaker or stronger lofts. Grabbed the 0811 proto when it was selling for 229 and just added a Gen 4 three wood and 0211 hybrid for $229 combined during the fire sale. Thrilled with the performance of all of them. For a mid handicapper like myself, a brand new 0211 driver for $229 shipped is an absolute no brainer.
I got the PXG gen 5 driver at your recommendation a few months back. I love it so much that I purchased the 0211 xcor irons, with which I am beyond thrilled. An hour on the phone discussing my issues & needs and a week later I was playing the best golf since I started. The answer was a half inch short, with winn drytac grips, with the elevate 95 stiff steel shafts. My TM SIM2 graphite irons are getting sold. Thanks for all your hard work.
They cancelled my order for the old 0211 in error. They told me to just reorder but it was sold out. They gave me the new one at the same price! It arrives tomorrow.
I managed to snag one of the last of the 2021 0211s before they sold out. $155 ca, so i could go with an upcharge shaft for the first time ever, and still less than 1/2 the price of any other brands. Had planned to reward myself with some new clubs for achieving a life goal, and thanks to PXG it'll be more clubs than originally planned. Thanks for braving the weather for us. Cheers.
Just bought used m5 driver at pga store $135 US. nice upgrade for me granted my old driver is a 983k. Went back to the store and found the m5 3 wood for $115.
i had the last one .. paid 205 for it... wasnt sure about it... this looks better i think .. i now use a wilson staff D7 which i got brand new for £160 .. as good as anything iv had
At the moment PXG remind me of Porsche when they launched the 928 back in the 80's or 90's. It was affectionately known as the Audi in a rally jacket!! Still loving my 0211 irons and proto driver though, picked them up for a great price as well 👍
Love your vids Simon, I’ve not seen anyone like you out there. Am looking at changing my woods to hybrids, can you do a video on the best of the old hybrids? Just learned about Adam’s hybrids today & realise I don’t have a clue about what’s out there. Thanks Paul
I bought the £129 version. It seemed rude not to even though I have a fitted Cobra SZ Xtreme. I discovered that increasing the loft on a 9 deg to 10.5 also flattened the lie. As my fitted irons are 2 deg flat, I thought this would be a good idea, and it is. More centre strikes than I got from my Cobra, and more accuracy. Best £129 I've ever spent.
I've got a 1997 Taylormade Ti bubble 2 (46 inches) in the bag. Classic. Love the feel. May try the new 0211 driver as the price is low. Could trade it off if the feel or distance is not there. Looks of it are spot on minus the non adjustable hosel and no adjustable weights on the bottom. Hence the cheap price, but I digress...
Had exact driver. Traded it as feel and distance was not there. May try the new 0211 driver. Looks are there. Cheap. Hope the feel and sound is better than gen 4 gen 5.
Hi Simon … seriously clever marketing on show. Upscale shaft and adjustable hosel for £229.00 for a new 0211 driver. And you can get expertly fit for £40.00. Your point about a £150.00 watershed price is spot on. I’m a PXG-er - so biased - but having been fit for Ping ( i500 and i200) plus other manufacturers Drivers, and then moving to PXG these guys understand how to present both a great starter \ mid handicap offer at a superb price 0211 plus cater for low and elite players. FWIW I’ve come down from 14 h’cap circa to 11 in 12 months using standard 0211 dual cores irons and slightly better hybrids / woods. And having dived in at £249.00 for a Gen5 driver on my specs following the ‘fire sale’ offer life is getting straighter and longer - great post thanks 🙏
I knew you were all wet Simon!😄 I got the old 0211 9 deg last year used which was hardly used at all for a good price and think it's great. I just got the 0311 XF also 9 deg this year new during the fire sale and haven't had as much time with it yet but so far seems to be a great driver. Looking forward to pitting them against my TS 3 and the recently acquired Ping G400 lst to see how they all perform, fun for next season! Stay dry buddy!
Have the 0211 irons when, with a military discount, were $109 ea. I love the clubs so just bought the Gen 5 hybrid for my son in-law for his birthday. Guess who gets it if he doesn't like it.
Hi Simon what about showing people how a club fit should be done and the relevant information/ instruction that would be included, as there is a lot off misleading and more of a sales pitch rather than actually sorting out the clients swing and technique
Use an old 0211 at 10.5 degree and regular flex. Love it. Bought a 9 degree one as I hit the ball a bit high. Couldn't keep it in the course never mind the fairway. Sold it. Lost a tenner.
Don’t understand how they do cheap and expensive stuff whilst maintaining an expensive reputation. Doesn’t make any sense from a marketing point of view really. Not complaining about the cheap prices for gear however
I just picked up the 0211 and the club feels and sounds great, but I think I screwed up on the shaft. I got an extra stiff project x and it's easily going 50 yards shorter than my old ping g15 driver in regular flex. Even on a full swing perfectly straight it's down 20ish yards. Wish I had gone with a different shaft, might put it up on the market place.
Find a decent priced shaft and put a tip on it to throw on the PXG head or just get switched out your old driver so you can see the results with your reg flex.
Add on the 25 years and i still can drive it 300 yards, but changing clubs over the years ive had problems with my driving. I got fitted with a cobra f9 speedback, and my driving is one of the best parts of my game again. 8.5° change in ball position and a slightly higher tee height, and im way more consistent. I can also shape the ball better too.
The first major brand actually passing some of the savings they get from having all of their clubs made in China down to the customer. The rest of the brands probably hate them for it but hopefully it makes them shrink their margins a little as well.
Great irons - difficult for a new golfer to get on with though I had the exact set myself 👍 swapped to Wilson tour forged fg then cobra speed zone irons (currently still using cobras )
Please correct me if I'm wrong but the new 0211 drivers look to have dropped in quality. Seem like the got rid of the carbon head and premium quality. I'd be cautious buying these.
I like the look of the clubs and can't really argue with the price but what are they doing with them head covers 🤔 they look awful. Surely they have got to change them
I traded off my PXG Gen 4 XF driver as it did not have the sound and feel of my Taylormade. Also the distance was not there. Will get another Sim driver. Currently gaming a 1997 Taylormade Ti Bubble 2. Which I love. Classic. Cheers
@@tinhatrancher904 I like the 0811 more but for $129 new it is a great deal imo. I played my srixon, mavrik, mizuno 200st, M6, M4, and honestly the 0211 feels like those. Now, I only swing about 95-97mph so I'm not sure drivers like these are built for me lol. I can on occasion hit them 250+ if I keep the spin down. 10 handicap. Also, just grabbed a full set of stix that I haven't hit yet but for $511 for a full 11pc set I couldn't pass lol
@@aimeagle $129 is almost free these days for a new driver, especially one of decent quality. I also got sticks from 2nd swing for $460. @@aimeagle Those are great feel comparison drivers thank you. I'll probably just gamble and buy the new 0211. Love the looks. Don't mind the non adjustability. Can always trade in at 2nd swing if needed. No risk.
Feels great, sounds great and goes as far as anything but looks like sh1t after 3 months. I had driver, 3 wood and 5 wood and absolutely loved them but I’m a very low handicap golfer and the paint just comes off the bottom soo quickly
How do you Brits get all these golf clubs for free??? I can even get free shipping, and I live in Tucson!!! They want $60 US for shipping, plus $56 Arizona state tax! WTF? Think I'll just keep my old clubs.
Is it me but wasn’t a driver of this brand £750 a few years ago when it first came out? I think this brand is poor and I feel they are now desperate to be part of the callaway/cobra/TM audience
