  • The Rule Tournament Series 800gph livewell pump wasn't pushing the pressure. I got a SeaFlo 55 Series washdown pump off Amazon, 70psi and 5gpm should be enough to get the guts off the deck

    Just thinking about it. Did you consider hooking the seaflo washdown pump just to your Livewell so you could get faster fill up in the Livewell and be able to have sufficient wash down pressure ? Now you have 2 pumps to maintain 2 seperate switches etc? Just curious of the cons.

      Filling the livewell that fast would probably kill what I had in there. Seaflo pumps are easy to repair and aside from fresh rinse of the filters, not much maintenance

    Where did you get the orange spray handle from?

    For clarification, you tapped into your live well water supply?
    I have a very similar assembly however I keep seeing videos that are requiring me to drill a a new hole through the transom. If I can tap into the live well water supply that would be more practical.
    Then i keep second guessing myself - wouldn’t I have to power the live well and the wash down at the same time?
    Confused, lol.

      Most Rule livewell pumps have a 1/2" plug on the water pickup coming from the seacock. Around 2:25 in the video, you'll see where I removed the 1/2 plug and installed the 1/2" male barbed adapter. Hopefully, I'm not making it more confusing. Just check your water pickup tube, it's between your livewell pump and the seacock. You have to have a access bung there, similar to the one in the link www.wholesalemarine.com/rule-livewell-pump-w-straight-pickup-tube.html

    Hello David just came across your video, like you my boat is in the same situation Live Well pump running double duty not getting the job done so looking at installing number of company pumps. I know it's only been a couple of months but how is your seaflo 55 holding up. I'm looking at their 53 series 70 PSI 7 GPM.

      It's been getting the job done. It's an on-demand system, so basically just leave the pump on. Only issues is flushing the pump. The stagnant saltwater starts to smell after a few week but just run it overboard before you hose the deck

      @@davidlooye7660 I have same pump new in box which is why I watched your video. I just did a test with an amp clamp and the pump was only drawing 7amps after pumping water for 5 min. If you want to try a switch again you should be good with one that can handle 10 amps.

  • @Go4Lo

    That pump draws 17 amps. What are your switches rated for? Maybe should have a relay?

    • @davidlooye7660

      max draw is 17amps. I've been running a 15amp fuse with no issues.

    So 500gph not enough (maybe could wash your hands) 800gph better but probably want 1000gph? My seacock is in a bad spot. I have been concerned to remove it and put a stronger pump in

    I intend to install a 12v SEA FLOW 4.5-6 AMP PUMP TO A BATTERY TO PUMP WATER TO MY HOME. tHE BATTERY IS 12 V BUT SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE AMPS BECAUSE I COULD BURN THE MOTOR, HOW TO YOU MANAGE TO DO THAT IN YOUR INSTALLATION? THANKS

    • @davidlooye7660
      @davidlooye7660  2 роки тому

      You'll need to install an inline fuse on the positive terminal side to protect your pump motor. Refer to the manual for the correct size, should be around 5 amp

    Hello mate... Question, where is the water that you sprayed coming from? A fresh water tank or, the body of water? Thanks!

    • @davidlooye7660
      @davidlooye7660  Рік тому +1

      There's a through hulls to feed raw water to the pump. Basically pulling it from the body of water I'm in.
