App State Geological and Environmental Sciences Triassic trip

A critical aspect of paleontology is understanding the strengths, nuances and limitations of the fossil record. Not just collecting fossils, but observing and recording every aspect of their geological context is important for any researcher.
App State's Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences professor Dr. Andy Heckert, studies vertebrate paleontology, dinosaurs and litho/biostratigraphy. He leads a trip each summer to the midwest of the U.S. entitled the Triassic Trip with students to visit sites in New Mexico, Arizona, or Colorado as well as the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science.
