a friend lent me his 3D printer recently and the first thing i did was make a new knob for my old NAD 3020 - in fact, i redesigned it so that it looks and works better than the original - so yeah, designing knobs is fun
Thanks. I guess it depends if you intend to use subdivision modifier in which case 16 verts is really the minimum but with no subdivision I would use 18, 20 or more with autosmooth.

I know what you mean. Would probably have considered a boolean but I found this way was cleaner. Curves can be very useful.
