Love seeing more of you talking through your trades and draft picks in-process. Prefer to see the process over the post trade summary. Great stuff, thanks!
Passing on Wyatt Langford is insane… If you look at real life. Lol. In game I’d probably have taken Dollander too. I’d have taken Skenes if he’d been available, same with Crews. But where you were, and based on in-game ratings, Dollander was the pick. That said, the love for Jake Gelof was WILD. Lol. Both Langford and Crews were SIGNIFICANTLY better prospects, in game AND out.
I think you meant Oswald pereza instead of Cabrera, he was offered to you for the package of almora and fado. Really enjoyed watching you play out the game!
How do you all keep the inflation percentage? I have not seen it in the videos, for now i set it to 0-0%. I just started with the Marlins, maybe i should start with an easier franchise as it's my second time playing the game (the first was in the 22)
Your scouting director and what they prefer can make a big difference in grades too. I believe Pat signed a director with "heavily favor tools" which perceives guys with much higher ceilings. It gives more busts than other scouting preferences, but also helps find more perennial all stars/HOF type guys.
I nearly dropped my phone when I saw the Mariners offering Miller lol. Considering that he’s one of the best pitching rookies out there rn, trading him for Almora is, well…
I watched your previous video detailing how trading seemed odd in OOTP 24 (notably for some player evaluation by the AI). Would you say it has been fixed in recent patches or that it's closer to how it was in OOTP 23 with changes you suggested?
I think it's better. I still adjust the player evaluation settings and keep the trade frequency on low during the season and very low during the offseason.
Here i am months later screaming at my phone for you to try to get both position players from Tampa for Almora instead of whatever package they're offering
Haha fair response from a Sox fan. It's always interesting to hear how other people play the game, so hit me with any ideas of how your process is different!
A little of both. I sim game by game most often, but I generally just check the box score and keep it moving. I don't change my lineup too often because I have my depth chart set to rotate guys in.
I think when you were looking at Oswaldo Cabrera you meant oswald Peraza
oops
Paul Skenes is a generational pitching prospect in real life, I might edit him to be slightly better than Dollanger in my save
the new draft lottery only affects the first round. the rest of the non-supplemental rounds go by reverse record
Love these longplays. Hope Baez can bounce back. Defense at SS helps.
Just need that bat to be okay-ish and I can live with the contract....or for him to have a monster year that allows me to move him.

Thanks! I try to mix it up to sometimes showing the process and some times not...depends on how much time I have to record.
Both Teel and Gelof are killing it for UVA in their college world series run. Glad you talked about them so highly in the game haha. Go hoos
wahoowa!
Loved watching the draft! I jumped out of my seat when Hartman was still available. Hope him and Lombard both pan out!
going to order my Hartman jersey asap

Yeah. Seems like a big goof
@@cedarpark4052 I would have gone for pereza over the rays package, but I also don’t know what I’m talking about sooo

@@pfholden will the Detroit tigers be your 2023 World Series champions?
Haha I'd bet against it. I did like the Rays package a lot though.
Young Chase Dollander, we will watch your career with great interest.
our new hero
Would love to see you build around Torkelson and Greene!!!

I think mine is at 0-1%
Paul Skainez? Paul Skynes? Paul Ski-Knees?
Catching up late but hope you take Lombard in the supplemental and McLean at some point
I remember taking Lombard, I don't think I took McLean.
Here after the tigers took Clark at 3😅
Take a shot every time Pat mentions a dislike for Extreme Flyball arms
we're gonna need more liquor
i believe that tai peete is also a solid pitcher too
How do you get so many great prospects in the draft? By round 3 there were only guys with 40 potential or worse in my 2024 draft
it can really vary depending on the draft

The perfect cure for the utter heartbreak of my Longhorns losing to Stanford on a misread flyball to go to the College World Series!!
sorry for your loss, fellow tigers gm
Colton Hartman is headed to the HOF in my last OOTP '23 sim!

thats what i ended up doing, right?
Enjoying this series. Boo Tigers, except for in this Sim. Also as a veteran player your process is still really interesting/insightful

52:34 he turned into a stud for me
Do you sim game by game or do you sim chunks of games at a time? How often should you be changing the lineup?

@@pfholden Oh OK thanks for the reply
Do you sim each game or both play and sim?
mainly sim, but i play postseason some of the time

I've recorded a bunch of episodes ahead but am happy to report in like episode 8 I get this pronunciation right.
