Hey guys, back with another Borderlands 2 countdown video and today, I figured I would go over some of what I think are among the best guns and weapons from Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt DLC for Borderlands 2!

Love how he talks about hating the Elephant Gun, and the red text actually says "Hated by many people" XD
Most Borderlands players don't really "get" the concept of a safari rifle. A real one would have real ir0n sights (adjustable for windage and elevation) and you wouldn't use it with a scope because scopes inhibit peripheral vision which, in turn, inhibits situational awareness. I always liked Whitting's Elephant Gun in BL1, especially on playthru-2. Definitely a Mordy/Hammerlock style of weapon.

I actually really liked this expansion for the most part. The areas were some of the most varied and almost creepy looking when compared with the other ones.
Matthew Lemmers the story was meh but the environments were gorgeous, and the new enemies were interesting to fight imo.

I think it's because its crit bonus starts to decrease with each critical shot, so reloading the weapon should restart in some way that bonus
The Yellow Jacket can Crit Unlike most E-Tech.

It is an smg, which even e tech version usually can crit.
The scariest thing in hammerlocks big game hunt is the big skeleton on the mountain when you’re on the way to jackinstien I think. mainly because for there to be a skeleton of something it has to have been a living thing at some point, and with bl3 on the way it means they could have put the creature that skeleton belongs to In bl3........as an enemy.......for players to fight......and get killed by many times.
I like Hammerlock's Hunt.
Love the environments, love the enemies, love the villain and the final boss.
Also, the Rough Rider definitely should've been #3.

The Elephant Gun in BL2 was a huge disappointment compared to the version in BL1. I remember really liking the BL1 version. I was pretty good at sniping with it, and it was rather powerful.
Ikr the elephant gun in bl1 was really good for sniping in my opinion but when I saw the elephant gun in bl2 I was hyped but it's kinda a disappointment
yeah in bl1 it felt like a real *Buffalo gun idk why they call it an elephant gun i know there is both elephant and buffalo gun in bl2 but they should just remove the name elephant and call it buffalo instead it makes more sense
There bad in both games tbh, elephant gun has been one of my favorite of mine tho
The lead storm works wonders with the bee and the lady cost on Salvador vs Terramorphous.
After you came back your older stuff started to pop up on my recomended. I don't even care if you're talking about an older game. I just love your content

The Hammerlock weapon skins remind me of Dwarven weapons and armor/ the gold-bronze metal and blue highlights like the stocks of the crossbows and guns

I think the infection is still a missed opportunity to have had a truly unique weapon. Would have loved if it actually spread its corrosion to other enemies than the one you just killed impaler style.

Cecil Respawn I actually started using it, it's actually really good though I use it on Salvador.
Ludger Krenisk give it buffs it's one of the best weapons in the game and It's also broken

Well-well-well. You included Rough Rider in the Big Game Hunt countdown. But you didn't do it with the Antagonist from Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep. The question is: why the heck?
Faily Failracer because if he where to include the Shields from tina's dlc (antagonist and blockade) they would have ended n° 1 and 2 which doesn't look so great, in hammerlock and torgue dlc there almost nothing to farm for really, so he had to include Shields, by the way Twister should have been n°2 it is a really good weapon definitivly top 5 shotgun in game while the lead storm is not top 5 by any mean (top 10 at best)
DD107 so there's no point there's no point in Puma trying to make his countdowns look great if they are fucked up at the very beginning, because of the misinformation and not including certain pieces of gear. And, damn, including Elephant gun in the top with no objective statements why it is good enough to make it here. What a boatload of ass! (c)
I guess he just want to make hammerlock and torgue look good compare to the other two gearwise. I agree with you on the elephant gun it has nothing to do here 😕 but I guess he ran out of idea (like the infection its a bad gun a regular maliwan purple do more damage or kills faster)
DD107 yeah, Infection. But it has somewhat good synergy with Cloudkill corrosive Maya and is the best tool for stacking bloodlust with Krieg.
Bloodlust stack fast as long as your applying a) constant damage b) dot, so yeah the infection is good for it but so are all maliwan pistols or the flame of the firehawk or any fire weapon
And cloudkill dont need infection to be good i'd recommend a fire or shock weapon combine with cloudkill if you want to melt them

I really like the Yellow Jacket, but I found it to use a lot of ammo, and it is a HELL of a farm. Ya gotta kill Jackenstein. BTW great vid Puma!
Many of these weapons haven't dropped for me. The trek to revisit the area is such a pain in the arse I just can't be bothered..
The yellow jacket just looks like it’s a different version of the plasma caster.
I love the elephant gun as a fallback CQC sniper much like the skullmasher. There are also skills for zero that make hipfiring better.
I honestly think the Chopper is better than the Elephant Gun

Hey man the infection isn't designed to be used on it's own, it's designed as a tag n swap gun (most likely to counteract the health regen of uvhm enemies) it's like witherhoard or anarchy from destiny 2, you swap to a better damage gun after tagging
The YellowJacket reminds me strongly of the plasma gun from Doom.

VinylicPuma forgot to mention, that Krieg can make some good usage out of the Interfacer due to his Salt-the-Wound skill, which boosts shotgun damage when shields are depleted
DrQuagmire1 Kreig is dumb overpowered with a bloodsplosion/hellborn build while using an interfacer I ran through arid nexus badlands and got to Saturn with all my skills still proc-ed and killed him within seconds w/o hitting critical hits I did use all my ammo tho
yeah, that's the only drawback while using the Interfacer. although, you could offset that somewhat with a Stockpile Relic (or the Blood-of-the-Ancients) that boosts Shotgun max ammo

To be fair, the Infection is good on Krieg, not damage-wise, but as a tool. Get an infection that's low level and it's a very good tool for stacking bloodlust

dang 2543 not possible. Yellow Jacket is a DLC weapon and hence cannot drop outside of it

Yea even elephant gun's sight is bad compared to razorback from pre sequel which if you plyed COD World at War you can use it very well it's like the kar 98. And also Hyperius has a low chance of spawning Interfacer too, esier to kill too.
Hyperius can't drop the interfacer? It's from a completely separate DLC...
Hyperius can drop any legendary, any seraph gear and weapons and low chance for pearls. Try watching twitch streamers some use hyperius to farm interfacer
Jonathan Laig No, I'm telling you Hyperius doesn't drop seraphs from other dlcs, that wouldn't make sense. Whoever you watch must be extremely misleading

Gaige is the best for the infection, increasing its DoT damage by 30% after a kill, and it's proc chance by 10% (both at 5/5).
keep in mind a low level infection is great for stacking bloodlust fast on krieg
omg when you use the snipers and reload after 1 shot every single time made me soooo mad

The interfacer can only be found by killing voracidous the invincible in ultimate vault hunter mode. You cannot buy it from the seraph vendor
Imagine the crit damage with the elephant gun on Salvador if you use a bee and money shot.

If you use the rough rider with a killer com on zero it increases your fire rate witch can be great with the elephant gun but only if specked into fearless

Y does everyone hate the elephant gun? The elephant gun in part 1 was amazing without a scope for medium range fights and I never had the elephant gun in part 2 bc I never knew where to get it but I bet it will be great..... The only problem is that I'm using Krieg with Torgue weapons

When you're playing Krieg in the video, your kills are giving you a little more duration...
Yes, that is due to "Blood Trance". It increases your buzz axe duration for each bloodlust stack you have.
So when you get into rampage with less than 100 stacks and slowly get up to 100 again, the duration will update while in buzz axe rampage.

Love the phsyco character dude but i hate that ability where you hit yourself but will do a ton of damge if not really pisses me off
That would be silence the voices, yeah it's annoying but the extra melee damage is insane, especially in the early game.
Yeh the damage is jaw dropping but i swear the chances of me hitting myself is 8/10 or 7/10
It's 12% which means random. You can hit yourself 4 times in a row and then you can melee 4 times and not hit yourself once. With that said, you should throw your axe more often as STV cannot proc on a throw.
Yeah the idea of throwing is smart but i want to actually go around slicing enemies instead of just pegging an axe at them plus my luck when i play the phsyco is always at its lowest so im likely to hit myself 4 times only to be able to dinally land one hit then the process repeats itself
I never had that problem and I have at least over 500+ hours on Krieg.
The most hits in a row I had was 6 but that is incredibly rare.
I mean, if you wanna play on OP0 then you can get away with not having STV.
Just get a Salt class mod with +6 in Salt the Wound (or +5 if you prefer a purple one). For a shield you can either go with a Rough Rider or a Roid Shield (preferrably the Hide of Terramorphous) but I still recommend a Rough Rider for the extra survivability.

All kidding aside, I actually adore the Sir Hammerlock guns, even if they're kinda meh. The Rex is a personal favorite, even though it's kinda flacid
The sir hammerlock guns are some of the best. The interfacer ,the twister and the leadstorm are prime examples of that.

Just my opinion and I know I'm way to late and it may have been buffed or whatever but during this video just because the elephant gun is good for zero doesn't mean it should be on the list tbh

The Hawkeye hinestly sucks. With certain builds you will do more damage with a purple muckamuck, even on critical hits and it is just too much of a pain in the but to get.
Also, it´s basically mandatory for Seraph weapons to scale well as you can´t really get them before uvhm. A seraph weapon that doesn´t scale well is money.
And on top of that the Big Game hunt is basically the last place where you would want to snipe. Most enemies wear face masks that protect them from critical hits and are on top of that melee based, trying to hit someone in the bac of the head while he is attacking you in melee is rather difficult...

The yellow jacket is worse than the rough rider, rest I agree with but, why did you hate on the roksalt when you put things like the hawk eye on this list?

The rough rider is just too niche. And it does even hurt certain characters like Gaige who benefit from having their shields up. The elephant gun may be somewhat hard to get used to but it doesn´t actively hurt you.
Darthplagueis13 the rough rider its a great shield if you know witch character to use it on like you said gaige is a horrible choice to use the ruff rider on but krieg on the other hand becomes a monster with the ruff rider
lmao dude that is very subjective but i agree anyway you can't say it like that its very situational besides rough rider is a shield and elephant gun is a gun but i like to put on a rough rider and my breakneck banshee on maya for speedrunning but when i have to fight some dudes in an arena or a raid boss i put on my bee and leg siren mod

It is . It works well against very slow moving enemies by horrible against more agile enemies. I uswd it with Maya and aded as much bullet speed as possible and the bullets STILL moved too slow. It does work well up close though. So I guess it does fit a certain "up close" build to strip shields etc...
