Good Morning Lumnah family and friends. 🤗 Such a joy to see the big smiles on Al's face as the work shop is becoming a reality. 🥰 Take care Al, Gina and Olivia. God Bless 🙏
You are reminding me of when we built our sheet metal shop. It was so exciting to be near the end and we would be able to move the tools and equipment inside. I do miss those days about 35 years ago. Love from NC
Hi all. Your project is moving forward at a snail’s pace. Guess that is to be expected with moving camera around and Ken’s drive for perfection. A couple questions. 1 rainwater collection cistern system in the plan? 2 lower ceiling over shop area too lessen volume to heat? 3 plans for ventilation and installation? Both walls and ceiling? 4 electrical equipment storage room? Ventilation? Nice to see Gina back in videos. 0:12 Good luck.
Yup, those kickers were exactly what you needed for extra snow load and gable blow out in high winds. Excellent work kids. Depending on prevailing winds in the area, tying the interior walls into the foot of the trusses with a few additional cables w/saddle clamps, like every 4 trusses, are a good supplement to the hurricane bracing~
I helped my sister run a 40 doe goat dairy & we always kept pigs to utilize the milk that didn’t pass the bacteria levels for the co-op. We soaked their pig food with the milk & they always went crazy for it. Found your channel from Jason’s Shoptalk channel
I like it when Mr. Al likes it, he says it so genuinely! Great job...I like it ..really ..really like it! When we built our barn 22 x12 x 25 (I believe) I blew my hamstring with the last few pieces of metal and we also made our own trellis. All materials were recycled from crates and sheet metal was used to carry supplies for boat docks and ramps on our lakes here in SC. Blessing to y'all!
Good morning, Al & Gina. Nice progress on the workshop, and I am glad the metal roof is finished without any problems. I noticed that the roof doesn't have the snow and ice bars installed to prevent avalanches. I highly recommend them for safety. I can't wait for next episode.
Very close now! I can envision all the plans you and Gina have for the enterior of this garage and how much it will benefit your homestead. Nice job guys!
Looking good, that’s a fine looking building. Have you considered adding fans to the gable end without doors? It might help with moisture and give you a nice breeze by the garage doors in the summer.
Like the shirt Al, got one myself, but did you get a size smaller than what you usually wear? Looking a bit buff. Buff in like your working out in a gym. (As if you dont have enough to do in the homestead.) Or maybe it the 40X40 build? Or maybe its all that good down home cooking Gina is coming up with. What ever, its a joy watching you guys. ❤
For the piggies, try mixing the raw milk with their grain... Just a little to try. You don't want to mix a big batch and they don't like it. And try it whilst they are hungry. It might go down easier. If they do like it continue mixing, it will stretch your grain. 💖🌞🌵😷

It would be fantastic if you can make a build list that we could see you know at the beginning of the show and at the ending of the show of how things are progressing in the project

nice work!!! my dad would put the pig feed in the milk and let it ferment and then feed them boy did they chow down on it!! try it you have a abundance of milk cool use of it
The workshop is looking sharp. Notice how water doesn't pool around the building -- nice drainage. I remember that the floor has water radiant heat. Looking forward to how you handle the insulation against that cold metal outside. It's all looking good.
with the pigs feed with the left over milk you put in a bucket with food scraps with oats , barley or wheat or cruched corn and soak it over night and they will love it mine did
Good Morning, Lumnah Acres friends and family! What amazing progress. It is funny how the roof panels are black, but depending on the angle they look grey like the walls. Looks like the Milwaukee got a thorough workout on this build. Guess we know what is on Ken's Christmas list.
Gooooood Morning, I agree about the roof looking black and gray it’s kind of funny. Yea Milwaukee makes a better framing nail gun. After using Ken’s dewalt building the house I knew I didn’t want a dewalt framing nail gun
@@LumnahAcres Congrats Al and Gina for amazing progress and accuracy! Perfect! Ken and his crew are amazing, and you are lucky to have them! Have a great weekend. :-)
I am completing a project putting up a handrail on our front precast steps. I had to get some bits for drilling concrete using a hammer drill. Would anyone like to venture a guess as to which drill bits I ended up buying at one of our tool stores in Calgary? . . . The answer is . . . Milwaukee! (By the way, our precast steps are over 50 years old. Using water with the proper tools, the concrete drilled almost like going through cheese. . . . almost. 😊 )
Did you buy carbide drill bits or diamond 💎 tip ? The Carbide are great with water but Diamond 💎 tip are better. No water 💦 required with diamond tip Bits and Blades but they’re a lot more expensive.
I bought the Milwaukee 48-20-9021 Shockwave Impact Duty 3/8" Carbide Hammer Drill Bit for concrete. I am not a contractor. The clerk made sure that I was buying the proper bit.
@@rdyardie I was thinking masonry bit but maybe the diamond tip bit works well for drilling concrete too. I had to rent a hammer drill and use masonry bits to hang my drape rods up in an apartment I rented. It was an old apartment and the walls were very hard to drill into. I'm glad you could put up rails for your steps. Have a great weekend.
Hope somebody sponsors a few Milwaukee nailers for Ken’s crew.
Metabo/Hitachi has a good one too, that's way less bulky!
I hope so too.
i will keep my dewalt
They run about $395. Not cheap
For sure!
Ken is a hard worker and has an experienced crew.

We mixed pig grain with alittle bit of milk at first. Ours wouldn't drink it either. Soaking it helps. It's their #1 favorite now.

Also great to see the ear to ear smiles of working with a great crew !

A month of hard physical work and a lifetime of barn. Nicely done as well,Gentlemen.
New tools…… Al said “I buy one for every project. “ me too, they most always pay for themselves with time saved and you can sell them if they don’t.
