@@JewelsoftheTrade okay because looks like from Casa del Jade in Guatemala they sell Jaguar Green jadeite Jade they say it is but it's completely opaque which really confused me to question if it's authentic and genuine?
@@JohnDoe-ky2qd In the context of gem quality, the vast majority of jade is considered opaque. However, if you shine a line through it, small finished pieces or thin slices will usually show some translucency.
Nice video for people starting out for buying jade! Here’s a fun fact to add as well, Nephrite jade was at one point more popular than Jadeite jade since it wasn’t discovered by the Chinese up until late 18th century in Burma but the two weren’t differentiated until 1863 by Alexis Damour.
My earliest recollection of Jadite was as a child, my family immigrated too Canada from Hong Kong & all Female members of my Family wore Jadite bangles. So very young.
Hi there ! Howdy ? I loved your video and it is very educational. I was wondering about reselling jadeite from Burma. I went to Burma last year and I met lot of jade sellers and now I want to resell in America jewelry store. What is your recommendation? Thanks 🙏 😊
*Audio error* at around 4:15 the audio goes to left channel only. Wearing headphones will illustrate this. It’s so bad I had to check my headphones to see if they were broken. Overall though I love this info about Jade. Thanks!
Earliest recollection...grandma sailed back to China every few years and would bring back jade bangles and pendants to sell to her friends and neighbours😁
Hi Jordan you constantly tell us info on jade but…… you never say which jade is the most powerful in fen shui n most powerful to wear. Is it the most expensive jade the most powerful? (Regards to healing , protection, good fortune etc… ) Also can you please give more websites that are legit where I can buy genuine jade besides masonkay
Hi there! Thank you for watching my videos! I don’t comment on the metaphysical properties of jade. But I can certainly recommend a number of sellers: Jade West (jademine.com), Jade Maya, Mayan Mountain, Freshwater Jade, and Yax Tun Minerals. Hope that helps!!
Hi there :) The price of jade changes depending on a number of factors including supply, Chinese economy, American demand, etc. The value of a piece now versus it's retail price 5-6 years ago depends on the appearance, origin and treatment of the individual piece. If you have a specific item you're wondering about, I recommend contacting your local ASA-certified appraiser or Mason-Kay Jade. www.masonkay.com/
I want to sell my natural burmese jadeite which was curved in burma. I have the official AGGL report on them 6 pieces, all type A jadeite jade and one type A omphacite jade which is dark green, black( translucent) Can you help me out, I have a rough idea on how much they are worth and i want a good price on them
You might consider trying to sell them online first! Perhaps Etsy if they’re vintage, or maybe 1stDibs, eBay or Facebook Marketplace. You could also try to sell to your local jewelry store or Mason-Kay Jade, though you’ll make more selling direct to a customer
Do gem reports state 'imperial green' as a color? Coz bluntly put, I can never tell which one is imperial, which one is not (but similar) with my own eyes 😂
Great question! A trustworthy lab, such as GIA, will not specify “imperial” on a report. Neither will Mason-Kay Jade, who offers lab testing services. The term “imperial” is more of a trade term, not a gemological or mineralogical term, so anyone can technically call any color/quality imperial if they are unaware or trying to manipulate a customer. In general, “imperial” refers to translucent, vivid green with even texture over $50k or so. However, there isn’t a hard and fast rule for this, and there are situations where “imperial” can refer to other colors as well. i.e. Imperial Yellow in veeeeeery extremely rare cases.
@@JewelsoftheTrade thanks! I think I'll steer away from anything 'imperial' for now until I'm knowledgeable enough to tell the legit ones apart from the rest!
@@FarawayWanderer590 Some sellers will use the term “imperial” to refer to any green jade, and they’re not necessarily trying to be misleading. For instance, if you stumble upon the word “imperial” referring to Guatemalan jadeite jade, it’s more likely to refer to any shade of green, or maybe a rich apple green. This is because some aspects of the trade assign different definitions of “imperial” for Guatemalan and Burmese origin. It’s inconvenient, but not always indicative of an untrustworthy seller.
@@JewelsoftheTrade thanks for the info! Oh, I think this will somehow make the 'hunt' more interesting! In any cases, they're all soo gorgeous, especially those with gleamy/oily texture! I've had 3 rings in different shades of green and I love them! Now I'm setting my eyes on lavender & apple/imperial green ones! 😂
