- I couldn't leave New York without taking my motorcycle to Manhattan. And what a project that was! A local rider, Charles, jumped on Chillie, and off we went for a little tour around Brooklyn and Manhattan. New York traffic is horrendous, but I regret nothing; it was so worth it!

In April 2017 I left Australia for a solo trip around the world on a BMW F800GS. I named it “Are We There Yet” because I don't know my final destination or the duration of this journey.
Throughout my journey, I'm raising money for a young disabled child in Poland named Franek. Franek was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (weakness of the entire right side of the body) and he will require constant rehabilitation for the rest of his life. Rode from Florida to Boston last summer. Worst part and I mean the ABSOLUTE worst part of the trip was going over the George Washington bridge. This summer when I do the ride Im going to scoot south of the city and ride through Long island.

Great view of the Brooklyn bridge. You might have included more of the crime scene tape in the Times Square picture. I assume that guy was wearing a bomb-proof armor suit. I suppose New York doesn't allow lane splitting, so you get stuck behind traffic. Great weather for the shots, though.
The lines on the streets are just suggestions I see from the drivers. 😆 Nice peek of the city.

It's so weird seeing you in my backyard. I've been watching you for the past few months in exotic places like Mongolia, Iran and Africa but to see at Adam's Deli in Greenpoint?! Wait, what? I've lived here my whole life and I used too live in Williamsburg, my polish friend Adam Litwinski would take to Greenpoint for great Polish food. I have seen videos of Evel Knieval jumping but I think you surpassed him by riding in Manhattan with a passenger. I think I have seen every documentary of the building of the Brooklyn Bridge.
I used to take the train to Manhattan and take 10 to 20 mile walks.

It was great to see you visit my "neighborhood". Taking a motorcycle through Manhattan on a sightseeing trip during a work day is not something that I would recommend! Heavy traffic is just a part of life here.

My wife and I rode our bikes through downtown NY , we got stopped for me running a stop sign, then one of the guys asked my wife where our bikes were from, then said we cant ride them in the US because they aren't legal! His buddy told him to shut up and stop being stupid "They are Scottish" he said, have a nice day!, America was great but sometimes the cops weren't that switched on. (same everywhere I suppose)
I had a similar situation in South Africa. It's a strange experience when you have to deal with a police officer who doesn't know the law in their own country.
