I have a serious gardening question. Is there a native Texss pistache tree? If there is, does it produce edible fruit or nuts? I have heard it is an endangered species which grows well in the Texas hill country which is mostly limestone and clay with some red granite soils around Llano and Fredericksburg. Do the grafted trees ever send out sprouts below the grafts?
Yes like any grafted tree the rootstock will grow shoots and need to be trimmed off.
