Bok Tower worried new expressway will disrupt beloved attraction's 'quietude'

According to the Oxford Dictionary, quietude is a state of stillness, calmness, and quiet in a person or place. The word perfectly describes Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales. In fact, quietude was Edward Bok’s intent when the Dutch-born American writer designed the now-historic gardens one hundred years ago.

Accoustically, if the new highway is significantly below the level of the area around Bok Tower, I imagine the quietude will not be affected.

This is seriously sad my grandmother's ashes were spread there because she loved the solitude and quietude and the bells 🔔 🫶🦋🦋

Yeah whoever is in charge of the City of Lake Wales I think it's a bunch of Northerners have come down here and decided to turn our little country small town into a big Concrete Jungle and it send my heart because all the small towns are just becoming mall and no because nobody wants to fight for the small town and keep it small we don't need a Big Town's we've got towns like Lake and that have turned over and turned into concrete jungles. They're tearing up our lands and tearing up our trees getting rid of our oxygen and displacing all of our animals it's absolutely insane Bok Tower is a treasure there's so many places that are Treasures like our orange grows were treasures and everybody is just letting them go and not fighting for them it's too hard. Plus the government will not help with any of that or the state please help the small towns stay alive. And protect Bok Tower that's an animal sanctuary plus it's a place where all of us small folks can go and be surrounded by Nature once again. My other beef is that they're putting all of our little swim holes that we swam in when we were kids putting houses around it to where that we can't get in what gives you the right to close off all of our lakes and ponds that we have

At its closest the highway would be over a mile away… It will not affect the “Quietude”of Bok tower… I love Bok tower but this is a must for Lake Wales as it continues to grow and prosper it really needs an alternate and express direct route to Orlando and Tampa. I honestly think option C and D are the best routes for the new highway.
