    Hi Dr. Great
    I ask you do Ls -dyna gives accurate results and consider PINCHING effect for cyclic analysis?
    Please share step by step procedures, thanks

    Great how far the simulation matches the experimental results!

    can ls-dyna perform a static nonlinear analysis of concrete beams strengthened with CFRP plates? what is the best and accurate software for this case ls-dyna, abaqus or ansys workbench. Please advise me. thanks

    very impressive simulation..i'm wondering how long the simulation takes?and how many CPU cores are used?

    Hello, great work. I am studying Base isolation and I want to model it in LS Dyna, I have problems in applying seismic loads. Could you please help me? Thank you.

      Hello, application of seismic loads is straightforward. You can apply the earthquake either as a prescribed motion (at the support nodes) or as body forces throughout the model. I recommend you directly contact LSTC support with such questions, they should be able to readily reply.

    Hey there. Good evening . Can you tell what cards you applied for the cyclic loads? It will be very very helpful for me . Thanks in advance. _/|\_

      Hello, we applied a lateral displacement at the top of the wall model (through the boundary-prescribed motion card). If you require further information on this (or other aspects of the model), please contact me through e-mail.

    Hello, I have seen your video carefully and your job is awesome. I am doing a job studying the behavior of a RC column under cyclic loads. However, I have trouble obtaining the spalling of cover concrete and bar buckling. Can you give some suggestions?
    Or Is there anywhere I can find the details of your model, especially the novel constitutive law and the contact of rebar and concrete? Thesis or tutorial would be very helpful. Thank you~~~

    Hi everybody! please help me !
    How can i link between beam and slab in LS Dyna? ( See Fig below)

    • @ioanniskoutromanos1340
      @ioanniskoutromanos1340  7 років тому

      Hello, I suggest you contact LSTC support, they are very quick to respond to modeling questions. You should be able to link beam and slab (= shell) elements by having the corresponding parts share the same nodes, or by using one of the CONSTRAINT options in LS-DYNA.

    This is really cool model! Did you use mass scaling to overcome the small time steps?

    • @ioanniskoutromanos1340
      @ioanniskoutromanos1340  8 років тому

      +ashutosh srivastava Thank you! We did not use mass scaling in this model. Of course, you can use mass scaling but, for general simulations of members which undergo cracking, some trial-and-error may be required (because the increased inertia of the mass-scaled wall may have implications on how slowly you need to apply the quasi-static load)

      Thanks Ioannis for replying! May I ask how long did it take to complete and on how many cores?
