It's a shame they changed the clothing and armour system from the first game. Being able to wear a underlayer of "clothing" and then armour on top for both chest and legs. had an arm slot too. Allowed for alot more customization in the way you're characters looked
The cop out I read was you get a glorified Patagonia coat to account for all the clipping that may occur. DD1 figured it out tho. Even having pieces that would roll up sleeves to fit gauntlets a la Elden Ring

There isn’t exactly many full sets of armor that all are meant to go together. Most things are standalone so you can mix and match! (Just in case it wasn’t clear.)

Melorian Plate goes with Dark metal Greaves Blazing Soul helmet goes with the Thrasher Surcoat and Executioner Greaves The Gryphic Helm goes with the Valiant Armor and Raptor Claws The Fiendish Armet goes with the Grand Cuirass and Brutal Cuisses And so on. It's about visually going together and a vast majority of these sets come from the original DD, wherein they were more properly named to identify which armors were part of a set. Considering Wayfarer allows you to wear anything, it really doesn't matter that some (few) of these sets do not 100% align based on class.

Honestly Warfarer adds quite a bit of incentive. Speaking from experience, you can still use all 4 skills, just can't use weapon swapping skill. Which honestly I do most of the time just so I can mixmatch armor but also playing as Warfarer levels up any unlocked vocation, albeit slower than if you actually played the vocation. I've been just using Magic Archer abilities, minus the Maister skill, and bow and rocking heavy armor with the Visage. It's the dream

Nah I’m definitely annoyed about that. I been playing this game nonstop but so many armor variants looks like re-used and edited assets from DD1. Also rather annoyed they said something like “armor doesn’t matter too much you can wear whatever you want, we don’t want the player base wearing all the same stuff like in the first game because of how good it is.” Yet the stat difference on gear is ridiculous. Also annoyed that I can’t wear the armor that you have on the “In Dragon’s Wake” quest during the flashback fighting the dragon and saving Ulrika.

Dude this game honestly is such a banger, i have 40 ish hours on it so far and its like playing Dungeons and Dragons hack and slash, thought i was in the end game already cause i made it to the bottom of the map but then i saw all the armor at the beginning of the vid and now i know its gonna be at least another 20 - 30 hours before i even finish the game lol
I bet, since Warfarer will let you wear any piece of armor in the game, there's going to be a video series about fashion sets people come up with. Can't wait for that to happen
I only wish you went just a tiny bit further and tried to match some of the sets together. There isn’t many but definitely a few that visually piece together
I wish they added a glamour feature so you can keep stats but still customize your look. It makes no sense creating all these awesome pieces only for most of us to use whatever has the better value, or sacrifice stats for fashion 😩
My main issue is lack of cohesive complete sets for each Vocation, plus shared ones don't have a theme shared across them. I felt like my Pawn and I looked like a clown for most of the game utilizing the "best" options until mid-late game. Even the Unmoored World sets from the DragonForge feel like incomplete sets for each Vocation/Combination.
While it's a bummer the armor system is simplified and relatively stripped down this time around, its really cool they seemed to keep in mind the awesome combos when they consolidated a lot of the pieces
How is that amazing armor from the games cover art NOT in the game? Even the helmet on it was incorporated into the Vermund flag...I was very excited to see where I could find that set :(

Even with the armor system being gutted, even with sets on display being mixed and not displayed as matching, everything still somehow looks exceptional. Even mage, magick archer and rogue/assassin type of armor, instead of something dweeby and meek, looks intimidating, hardy and incredibly stylish. Even elven gear, with how much in recent fantasy the elven race reputation was reduced to being weak dweebs, makes you look like a fucking hyperborean gigachad.
I'm so sad that the "Bronze Sallet" from DD1 isn't in game, you can literally see it sitting on an armor rack at the blacksmith in Vernworth... It's RIGHT THERE, just let me wear it.. :(
I changed from female to male and to my surprise I was wearing the same womens clothes. That was when I found out the game has specific armor just for male or female. It sucks because the stats are good with the one I have but I ain't wearing no dress as a man LOL!
A lot of these armor's for men and women are quite bulky in silhouette which is probably more accurate and realistic to a degree. But it's still surprising that it seems the men's outfits are more form fitting and show more skin than the women's. Lots of abs, legs and pecs on show usually it's the opposite.
When you go to the right in the Dragon Tomb, to the jumping section, below the statue there, there is a hidden wall-door. Go through it to reveal a mini dungeon. Progress through it till you reach the intersection with 2 skeletons on the ground. Look to the right and up, then there should be a ledge with a gear chest but you can't reach it so make sure you have a pawn that can help you jump up Btw, I'm totally talking out of my ass

That helm with the horns at 0:14 reminds me of the Hydra gear from BitterBlack in DD:DA. I’m guessing it doesn’t come with the rapid healing effect though, right?

Although I have waited fot the sequel for more than a decade, and I am happy with most of the game, I believe that they were wrong to eliminate the gloves slot and the under armor slot, just to put it in one upper amor slot. This reduces appearance options significantly. If it is not broken, do not fix it.
I love those little waist bags, so fashionable, the first game had one on pratically every piece of armor, this one on the other hand is kind of lacking in that department

Interestingly enough If you look closely, you'll notice that a lot of these armors share the same pieces with each other like the same gauntlets, shoulders, arms etc. I think the devs initially planned to let us have more armor slots but ran out of time or maybe they didn't want to deal with the clipping.
I got it as a random drop at end game so its safe to say its purchase able from a shop like the one on volcanic island or beastren city even vermund once you reach endgame also search wiki for a little more info

Going to choose the Warfarer to be able to wear all armor combinations I want. No restrictions.
Only thing that sucks is warfarer makes you slightly weaker, you can only change out 3 skills, and you cant use the meister skills.

I really liked the Fighter armor in the character creation you can toggle on and off, but I don't think I ever found it in game.
Ah so the Plate Armor is at 1:58, but the leg pieces are different. So just have to match those.
