My sister is doing chemo/radiation treatments. They diagnosed her at stage IIIB. She was a smoker. I'm taking care of her now. She is doing pretty well considering loosing her hair last week. The radiation/chemo took a big toll on her body but she can laugh and has hope. God Bless those going through this. It's really hard. I have hope she might have another 30 years in life.

I had a nodule that was being monitored and because of COVID19 I missed my CT Scan in early 2020. I finally got an appointment and 12 hours later my Pulmonologist called me. The nodule was now a tumor and had to come out. I asked if it was Cancer and she said she didn't know. I asked the Surgeon and he couldn't tell. I knew I had Cancer. Sadly I couldn't get it biopsied because it was near my spine in the RLL so I had a Wedge Resection. Hardest thing I ever went through surgically. Cancer sucks. I never smoked....

I’m here because after a recent bronchitis attack my cough is still here, I’m wheezing and having trouble breathing. I don’t smoke but I suspect it’s the pollution in this city I’ve been in for the past 6 months. I’ve never been conscious of the environment and I’ve always taken clean air for granted. But now more than ever I wished that people had made more of an effort to clean up the environment, and kick myself for “why couldn’t I have cared more?” Instead or expecting someone else to figure out a solution or someone else to take care of the city.

Tobacco gets a bad rap, and rightly so. What I find stunning, and conveniently left out of the pro pot legalization discussion, is the total dismissal of the risks from breathing unfiltered pot smoke into your lungs! So much for “your health.” I suppose getting high, outweighs the risk.
A good overview, although perhaps a little optimistic about surgery. Only a small fraction of people presenting with lung cancer have operable (early stage) NSCLC.

Who and when give staging? I know patient whose cancer never was officially staged. Symptoms, treatment, scans, no detailed explanation.

Cough up blood daily have a mass about the size of a dime maybe a bit smaller in my lower left lung lost a bit more than 60 pounds in less than 8 months wake up at night coughing well the coughing is what wakes me up like flem that won't come out or get dislodged to the point I cough and gag so hard I puke and it makes sweat really bad. My right hand goes numb alot too for no reason. I refused any and all treatments and was wondering what's my chance the doctors said I had a 50% chance to live beyond 6 years without treatment. I feel like the Dr's are just trying to scare me into spending thousands for chemo or surgery n shit tho :/

Avoid oil and sugar for cooking. Don't eat starchy food like potatoes, cakes. Avoid bananas, grapes, even carrot is very sugary. Don't eat chicken skin.
Drink natural teas with out milk and sugar. Pasta, farmer cheese, sour crame is good. No pizza, none of those great tasting spicy mayonese, tomatoto etc stuffs. Drink often less yet adequate water.

That sweeting is caused from inflammation, keep your home very well ventilated clean aired. And spend time in the sunshine morning and afternoon. Avoid inhaling antracid from the garden. And also never use ammonia, clorax, no baking powder for cooking either.
All oily food and all warming up food can cause inflammation. Avoid them for a while. No oil spray, humbled eggs, nothing oily.

Hi. I think my mom has lung cancer. She's had pneumonia, and it went away but it suddenly came back. She has shortness of breath, a horrible cough and an extreme weight loss. She can't move around, she has no energy. Can't sleep. Her cough keeps her up. She just left to go to the hospital. My brother in law is suffering from lung cancer and it was spreading to all parts of his body metastasis, he was given no more than 8 months but he started using Tarceva 150mg and it's 2 years now and he is much much better and the metastasis actually stopped... The drug Tarceva is very expensive for 30 pills of 150 mg is about $3,000.00 but it saved his life

I didnt think you get any likes after that comment. However it makes me think about my chain smoking dad who died from heart issues. The doctor was surprised he was a heavy smoker because when they opened up his chest he said his lungs were pink and he just shook his head in disbelief.
