    former T28 Airframe mechanic here, have not heard that engine sound since Oct 1979 in Corpus; those planes are little hot rods...

      I was a PC and turn qualed on the 1820 at Nas Whiting....78/79....🇺🇸

    Thank you for sharing this with us Jim, this is a dream plane of mine. Can you answer one question? When I see people start these up they often let the rpm's sit around 3-400 for a minute before revving up to a smooth idle. Is this so you dont choke the engine out right after startup or is there a different reason for it?
