- It's been a year since I started a UA-cam channel! I've been focusing on making studio vlogs, art business tips and tutorials for the past year. It's been a lot of work trying to make weekly videos and I've learned A LOT. I wanna share with you what it's been like, what I've learned, getting monetized, HOW MUCH I MAKE ON UA-cam?!
Gonna try to cover it all and what my journey has been like! Maybe it can help you figure out if you want to start doing UA-cam too :)

I am an artist and designer from California now living in Sweden. I work full time as a designer while also running my little art business at the same time :) It's a lot of work, but it's been a lifelong dream of mine to be able to share my love of animals, art and creations with the world.

Thank you for this video! I have just started and definitely noticed how much work and time goes into editing and filming, especially studio vlogs!
Right!? So much time! I realize in the video I said vlogs take a long time to edit, but this video took me ages. I was super slow :p
Happy UA-cam anniversary Birdie 🥳 I can relate to a lot of what you said, like the time it takes to edit and the huge learning curve at the beginning. Also to waiting for better lighting 🙈🙋♀️I’ve done that too. It’s really interesting hearing how you’re trying to find balance and enjoying the creative side of UA-cam. I’ve also changed my upload schedule to every 2 weeks and I’m enjoying having a bit more time. Something I think about is how I often want everything to be wrapped up in a video and have it like a story with a beginning middle and end. But I’m trying to not worry about having an ending as it can just roll over to the next video. Looking forward to seeing what you create next 💕
I was in desperate need of a Birdie vid today and as always, it was a calming mood booster 🥰 But I am so glad that you're taking care of yourself. I can't be the only one that doesn't like to see you stressed about making content for us! We want you to be taking care of yourself first and THEN making content for us 😝
Congrats berty! You’re a natural! :) your determination and work ethic are inspirational. Go you!
Congratulations on your year!!! 😍✨
I'm looking to start one later in the year, this was all super helpful to hear, thank you for sharing! :)
Thank you for sharing your amazing journey. I’ve been struggling with full time work and creating art and UA-cam. It is hard to create the perfect schedule.
It's really a challenge! Whatever you do, just make sure you take your breaks when you need it 💕 You come first
This is an awesome video!😀I to struggle watching myself on camera, especially hearing my own voice 😂 I'm looking forward to sharing more of my art journey and developing skills on the way though. Great advice in this video, thank you Birdie ❤
Congrats on one Year on UA-cam! :) 💚👐💜
Thank you!!
This is a great video! I really like your videos and you art🥰
Thank you!! :)
Loving your UA-cam videos
Great thumbnail
Hey thanks! I couldn't figure out which thumbnail to go with
Tam, can you share what video editing software you use? Thank you for this video!
I use Adobe Premiere, but if you don't have the adobe suite an alternative option is Wondershare 😊
just started my YT this year, and see your growth really inspires me! Thanks for sharing your small business and life insight, so lovely to see this part of you!
Thanks so much! It's really lovely to know I can help others with the things I've learned!
Wooo! Congrats on one year!!! 🎉🎉
Your videos are always so well-made! What software do you use for editing?
Thank you! I use Adobe Premiere :)
Wow this video was like talking to a friend. Thank you for opening up about the real deal of being a art UA-camr! It really touched my heart ☺️❤️ thank you for showing up
Thank you so much! I still can't believe I'm a "UA-camr" 😅
Really appreciate you being honest about the hours you put in and the monetary payment you get. Very eye opening.
Ahh this is super helpfull!! Thanks so much! 👌 luckily Im extroverted but its still awkward practicing taking to the camera lol 😆 but you are GREAT at it so im SUPER INSPIRED!!
Thanks for being so transparent and honest about your UA-cam journey so far. It’s greatly appreciated!
Your video quality is amazing for only being a youtuber for a year! You're amazing!
I love all of your videos and I’m looking forward to tutorials!
Birdie! Great content! You are so professional!
Thanks a lot a lot for the video. It really helps me a lot and encourage me to keep on going on my journey. Especially the part when you say that most people hate to hear their voices 😂💔 I really wanted to start making voice over tutorial video but this insecurity about my voice holds me back, so thanks for the advice 😍💙💙
It's all practice! We all start somewhere 😊 You will get used to the sound of your voice, I promise
Thank you so much for this video! Planning to start a UA-cam Channel and upload weekly, so this seemed almost hand crafted for me haha thank you again for the insight!
Hey glad I could help! I know a lot of artists are thinking about starting UA-cam :) It's a journey but it's good!
Congrats! Thanks for all your hard work and constant inspiration 💜✨💜✨
Thank you!
I loved this video and I related to it so much. I’m trying to get inspired and back into the rhythm of creating and vlogging again - I had let it go when my grandma passed in May and, like you, I didn’t want to film (and still don’t) as I was/am so sad (and I’m sorry for your loss as well). I appreciate you being so open with your experiences and struggles - I don’t feel so alone in all these feelings now. I love how real and honest this is - cause it’s true! And I so relate to putting off painting or creating in order to film the next day due to “lighting”… and then it kills the fun and inspiration. So thank you for sharing - I haven’t watched any artists’ videos since the beginning of May as I’ve been avoiding it all, but I’m happy I stumbled onto yours. :)
Take all the time you need ❤️ and enjoy the process of creating! I know I sometimes forgot when I felt the stress to film
