@@kyleglennon5336 unfortunately I did not end up going… I ended up going to South Korea. I am sure I will visit Oneonta when I get to travel to the USA, to see what could have been!
This is where I grew up. What a great town to be a kid in, in the 50s and 60s. It would have been nice to see some of the beautiful old Victorian homes. I always loved walking past and imagining living there in the late 1800s, early 1900s.
I attended SUCO from '95-'98 and graduated in '98. I would hope it's changed a little. I got the impression the locals never cared much for the student populations, although our money kept the local economy going.
I lived on one of those hilly streets in Oneonta growing up :) I survived the tornado that swept through, got my thumb jammed in the car door, and sled down the hills in the winter! My grandpa was an English professor at Hartwick and my mom was going to nursing school at Delhi. I loved the area and miss it, miss the hills and the small town feeling of it. The last time I was there was 2012 for my grandpa’s funeral, and I met all kinds of people from the community who knew my grandpa and that was really special. Great community. Thank you so much for this video and bringing back memories :)
Been looking at video after video Florida towns. I thought I would look at what I have, since I live here. Your video lifted my spirits. House is paid for, thinking I should stay. Thank you.
2015 SUNY alumni here! this video perfectly captures the vibe I got when I first visited the campus and town- I just instantly felt that it would be a good experience. Had a great time there and met some awesome people. Oneonta has a lot to offer if you know where to look and who to ask 0_o
Great job! As a citizen of Oneonta, I can say that this is a beautiful portrayal of O town. I was kinda hoping you would include Wilbur Park, as I might have been able to spot my house. If you exit the park through the main gate, turn left and my house is the first house on the corner.
At first I could not figure out how you did the aerial video. I fly an ultralight powered parachute (AKA "PPC"), often at these same heights and speed. I finally figured out your Phantom 2 is a drone. The Go Pro is popular within the ultralight community. Excellent footage. Good job.
@Chris Chase what drone are you using here? Also what music track is this? Top Notch Work! I always have appreciated what you and Directive always accomplished. Your support when I was at The Village Printer was wonderful and I'm very thankful for You and You Excellent Staff.
I shot this with the Phantom 2 and the GoPro 4. Original footage in 4k @ 24fps in protune, flat, and native. Color Corrected and Graded with Adobe Speedgrade. Edited with Adobe Premiere.
Would it be possible to use about 3 seconds of this clip for a short film me and my friends are making for fun. We would get the shot ourself but it just started to snow in my area. It would help out a lot! We would also mention you in the credits. Our film is just a fun project me and some friends are working on.
This is a fantastic video! So beautiful and well done - thank you for sharing your talent and the beautiful city of Oneonta :)
Hi Chris! Thanks for sharing. I lived in Oneonta from 1983-85. Great footage you got here before the drone laws!
Glad you enjoyed it
Very beautiful and tranquil! Thank you!
You're welcome
Going to SUNY Oneonta spring 2020 as an exchange student from Europe... Excited, looks gorgeous!!
Were you able to still go, or did COVID mess-up your plans?
Did you end up going?
