I like your style of rating. Unique and it makes perfect sense to me. I’ve had the 10. Cost $50.
Would I buy it again ? Probably not. We agree a lot on this one. It did improve as it went down. It is clean and tasty. I wouldn’t say harsh. Rather a bit spirit driven and peppery.
It’s fresh and fruity, Banana candy, merengue, marshmallow, pineapple along those lines. That said, with so many good bottles I’ve yet to try, I won’t be revisiting this one for a while, I scored it an 85-86 On a good day. Too bad that scotch is going up and up. Can’t seem to buy as many bottles as I used to some years back. Keep making your videos. They’re spot on !

The whole review I was focused on the Glencadam 15 but then I saw the three stooges underwear and forgot about the whisky lmao 😆😋

I think the Glencadam 15 is losing the "tightness" after opening and oxidation. In many cases, the "tightness" close up the taste because the flavor is squeezed together. In that sense, you may like the "intensity" brought by the "tightness". Would that make sense? I had both 10 and 15, and my 10 last for 1.5 year. It was the last 3 drams of the 10 left me with the most intense memory. I thought I had my good time with it, and will move on to other bottling. If the budget is ok, I will pick up a 10 with great confidence, knowing that it will give me different experience from the first to the last drop.

Interesting...yes that makes sense. Thanks for your input. Much appreciated!

I hate it when that happens. When the neck port is stellar and then as time goes on it kind of drops off. For me I got the 10-year-old just to round out the collection. A couple of bottles got in and got scooped up because not too many people knew about it.

      Hi Dean
      Neck pours…. Sounds like a future show/topic.
      Cheers 🥃

@@justwhisky Most definitely. I've had a couple of instances where the neck pour was fabulous and then after time it wasn't. Happened to me with an Edradour Rioja cask matured Scotch and some Bourbons as well. It has taught me to not rush on evaluations. Maybe for an upcoming series do an initial tasting from the neck and then some months later try the whisky again? Like a long term review.
