Both great appliances. We use the air fryer almost every day. If you aren't hosting a party to get them, i would suggest you go for it. You can get them both at half off and save a ton. :)
Loved your review on this and the PC air fryer. I just had a party and was going to buy both but I can tell you LOVE the grill...and you think the airfryer is OK. I think I will def get this and the waffle griddle. I like what you said about it will take the place of several appliances! And great for travel. Thanks so much!
Loved your review! I have a very curious question as I'm considering to buy this: Why would anyone need this when you have a beautiful gas stove right there? The only thing I can think of is to save washing fry pans? Any other reason? Because it's the same amount of time to clean this grill.. thank you
Great question. The biggest advantage to us is the top and bottom heat. We also don't have a grill pan or a grill press, so if we want grilled steaks (especially during the winter) this is a go to. The integrated temperature probe also turns off the grill when our meat reaches the desired temp. We also the waffle plates, which gives it a functionality our beautiful gas stove doesn't have. That said, if you have all the equipment to do everything you want on the stove, you would have to truly weigh the pros and cons for your kitchen needs. The fact that the plates take uo very little space in the dishwasher, compared to a pan, is also a bonus.
There is a nob that adjusts the height of the top plate, if the nob is pulled all the way toward the front you can lay the top plate flat against the bottom plate. Then slide the nob toward the back to engage the lock.
Hmm. The only thing I could think of is if something obstructed the flow of grease of if the surface the unit was on was not level. I'm not sure how level it "needs" to be, but if the slope to the grease trap is small enough it wouldn't take much variance in slope to prevent the liquid from running. At the end of the day the system relies on gravity. If nothing is obstructing the path, liquids will always travel down hill. I hope that is helpful. If you believe there is something wrong with your unit, don't hesitate to reach out to your consultant or to Pampered Chef.
I have the grill and griddle, have used it a couple of times already, but have a question. If you don't push the "add 30 sec" before the time runs out, do you then just have to reset the entire process? The first thing I made was the shrimp and veggies in the included cookbook. It said to cook the veggies 2 minutes with it closed. When they were done, I was to open the grill and put the shrimp on the other side. However, then I couldn't figure out how to add more time for the shrimp, so I turned the grill off and back on to reset it.
You don't have to turn the button off on the back, but you would have to restart the process on the front. Click cancel Select mode Select time The unit shouldn't take long to preheat since it is already on. Once it is preheated again, just push the middle button to start the timer again. When cooking timed things, I usually give myself much more time than what it asks for and just take it off when the food is done. But that is just a preference.
There are 6 height settings between what you saw at the highest and sitting free on top of your food. The same device that moves the height is what locks the device to allow it to be stored upright. The only magnets on the device are used to switch the top half of the unit from rigid to free moving.
It really depends on what you want to do. The air fryer is great for reheating leftovers, baking chickens, or air frying things like fries. The grill and griddle is great for pancakes, paninis, and grilling meat inside.
There is a switch on the back that turns the unit on. The knob in the middle selects the mode. Once the mode is selected push the knob in. Select your cooking time and press the knob again. This will begin the preheat.
Sorry but I was disappointed that within the two minutes and 50 seconds I watched I wasn’t told there was an on and off switch at the back. It looks as if the round knob has a power icon like on and off And that can be very confusing and make someone think that their electric grill does not work. Sorry for the thumbs down I just feel this is the most important for elderly people like myself.

How do you lock it to store upright?

Can I take the caution sticker off the top without making a sticky mess?
We just took ours off to test and it came off nice and clean. :)
I have used my girl 3 times and the grease stayed on the grill plates and not went into the grease tray. Any ideas why?

Not enough explanation on magnet adjustments an open/close lock and height adjustments

Is Airfryer or Griddle more practical or an old dude?

No. Not worth it. I’m on my second unit and it’s a defective piece of garbage. Both have been plagued with errors. What an expensive piece of junk.
I don’t like it
Certainly not for everyone.
